MOBI 70078 GPS Universal Cup Mount

This mount works perfectly with a Garmin nuvi 885T in my 2007 Mini Cooper's passenger cup holder. I did not want a windshield mount or a permanent mount, either of which would advertise the presence of a GPS, and I had tried every other possible way of mounting it (visor mount had bad angle & I couldn't plug unit in; vent mount didn't fit curved vent; lighter mount didn't power GPS properly - but might have worked on a GPS without a traffic transmitter; my own home-made cup mount was too wobbly). This cup mount is adjustable in fitting the cup holder, and the goose neck is adjustable for height and viewing angle. It fits securely (no wobble). It's removable, and holds GPS at the height where I like it: just above gear-shift level (bottom of GPS sits approximately 7.5 inches above top rim of cup holder), so it's easy to see without having to look down too far, and doesn't interfere with any car controls or displays. (You could adjust it to stand lower,if you prefer, but probably not much higher.) I will say that it does squish down the cup holder's internal rubber fins that hold a drinking cup in place. I don't know if the fins are permanently squished or if they'd eventually resume their original shape (I suspect they would recover). But I didn't care about that since I rarely use the cup holder for drinks, and I have a second cup holder. Mount comes with adapers for other devices, which I can see would be easily interchangeable, but I've never used them.

Several adapters are included to join the GPS to the end of the gooseneck, but these are all double-T-slot types. I bought this to use with a Garmin nuvi 765, it was associated by Amazon as an accessory often purchased together. Rotten luck, the 765 will NOT mount to this accessory. I'm only out 20 bucks but I did not find any specific language or list of compatibilities that ruled in or out this accessory with that GPS.

Purchased this for My Magellan Roadmate 1700 which I use in my RV. None of the included adapters work with this GPS. Luckily, I also have a Garmin Nuvi 260W which I use in my car and there was an adapter for this device. Just as well I guess. The stability in the cupholder is just about maxed-out by the 4.3" Garmin. I seriously doubt it could handle the 7" Magellan anyway.

Works just like it's supposed to. I'm using it with my Magellan 1200 in a Ford F-350 and it works great, even in my large cup holder. Keeps it off the dash and out of the heat, yet close enough to set and to view, while keeping the glare out of my vision on those long night drives.

I am using this with a TomTom GO 720 and it works really well for me. The expandable base fits in the cup holder snugly. The arm is a little stiff but still quite adjustable.

The only concern I have is that the adapter just loosely hangs in place. Once I put the TomTom back in its case, I need to make sure that I don't misplace the adapter.

This is a good idea, but our cup holder is not solid, just an arm around the top of the cup. The insert doesn't work with this one because there is nothing for the expander to expand against. Bummer!

I bought this to use with my TomTom XXL 550 series GPS. Of course, as this is advertised as 'universal', I figured it would be, you know, universal. But it isn't. Not by a long shot. There is no adapter that works with my GPS, unless I want to pay the folks at Mobi for another part.
Buyer beware - this is likely not to fit your GPS. Double check with the manufacturer BEFORE you buy. I wish I had, because now I have garbage headed to the landfill.

I bought the dashboard one and then this one. The dashboard one is perfectly placed for the driver in front while this is on the side of you and is kind of akward to check the GPS on. Splerge on the extra 5 bucks and get the dashboard one if you can it is 100% bigger. Also, the picture makes it seem as if this is a very tall item. It is not. It is only about 5 inches tall and then your GPS goes on top of it. All in all. Its ok but not great.

This is solid product that works well in my car (a Honda Fit). The goose neck is kinda hard to move around but that is probably a good thing because it needs to hold the GPS in place when you are pushing screen buttons. I would like to see them have a "quick release" mechanism for securing the part that goes into the cup holder rather than turning a knob. That would be more easy on, easy off. Other than that, I would recommend it.

This is good to keep GPS out of your view of windshield but is still very functional.
