MOBI Portable Rechargeable Light Blue

I ordered this for my daughter after the Candeloo we had malfunctioned. What I love about this nightlight is that it stays on for up to ten hours (the Candeloo was only good for three) and there are two levels of brightness. I picked the light blue color and it adds a very bright glow to an otherwise dark room. You can also turn it off by pressing the button on the bottom, or return it to the charger. The friendly shape makes it seems like a friend is watching over you. Lightweight and very easy to pick up and carry from room to room without turning on the lights. The charger base can sit on top of a dresser with the plug hidden from view and out of reach of little fingers. A very cool product at a very reasonable price.

While I love the Moby light, the description under product features is misleading. This is NOT the light with the rechargable base. It has the cord in back -- the older version. I returned mine because I already have this model and wanted to upgrade and get the base. This model does not stay on very long when fully charged - 4 hours at best. The newer version allegedly stays on 10 hours. 4 stars for the light in general, Zero stars for the seller.

My 7 1/2 year old daughter has always had to sleep with the hall light on and her door open at night because of her fear of the dark. With the cost of energy, we talked about trying something new at night. We tried flashlights, night lights, being brave, and nothing worked for her. Finally, I stumbled upon this little light on amazon one day, and ordered it for her. It worked like a charm, although the first night she insisted on sleeping with "my little blue friend" in bed with her, and it rolled out of bed in the middle of the night. Every night after that, her little blue friend has sat on top of her dresser. I feel so much better about our energy use with this product and my daughter sleeps through the night!

I bought a blue one for my baby so I could see to change her diapers in the middle of the night without turning on bright lights. I keep it on my nightstand and carry the budy to her crib. It's safe to set it down in the crib next to her. It comes on automatically when you pick it up from its base and shuts off again when you set it back down on the base. The base is magnetic, so don't keep it close to any electonics like TVs or computers. I love it so much that I bought an orange one for my stepson's room. The orange one glows red when the light is on. Then I bought three more as gifts for various friends and family with young children. And today, I went ahead and bought the green one for myself.

They stay lit for 10 hours so it's great for all the power outages we get here in the winter. I also use it to get ready for bed or to find things in my room at night while my husband is sleeping since he gets up to go to work much earlier than me. It's bright enough to help me find my way around in the dark but not bright enough to wake him or the baby. It's also great as a guest night light. And it has a very soft glow that doesn't hurt your eyes when you need to get up in the middle of the night.

While I'm not crazy about the particular quality of light the TykeLight emits, I have to say that it ended the argument between my son and me about shutting the bedroom light off at night, and that was all I wanted. "Buddy" helps my son to focus on his light, rather than on my son's fear of the dark. And my son (age 3) likes setting Buddy to "go to sleep" mode (ours has a timer that allows Buddy to dim to darkness over the course of 15 minutes), when my son is ready to go to bed. As someone sensitive to fluorescent light, I initially found the TykeLight's glow to be rather garish, but I have learned not to look directly at it, and now we get along just fine.

Just got this for my 3yr old daughter and she loves him! The blue light is soft, but bright enough to get you around a dark room or hallway. Perfect night time companion for kids.

I was torn as to whether to give this 3 or 4 stars. I went with 4 because I do think it is a great concept and seems to work well. The only issues is that, although it has a "dim" setting, it is still quite bright. Maybe another color would be less intense.

Having said this, it works perfectly for the purpose for which I bought it. My 1-year-old has asthma, and when he is having difficulties I have to give him nebulizer treatments at night time that last about 10 minutes. I always try to keep the lights down so that he won't wake up during the treatment, but it is hard to make sure he is getting the medicine in the dark. So I bought this night light so that I can put it in his crib or hold it up next to the crib so I can see that he is getting the medicine. It works very well for these purposes.

My son likes to play with it in the morning when it is still dark and he is running round our room before I am ready to get out of bed. He seems quite amused by it and likes that he can turn it on and off on his own.

I do recommend this product, but do know that it will light up the whole room and is quite bright to look at directly.

We have been having trouble finding a light for our bedroom at night that would let me and my husband see while nursing and changing our daughter's diaper, but that didn't distract her and wake her up. The blue tykelight is the perfect solution. We liked the first one we got so much that we ordered a second one to keep by the changing table. The blue light doesn't disrupt REM sleep like other lights do.

This is a fabulous product! My 7 year old son likes his and doesn't find it too 'kiddish'. The glow it gives off in his room is subtle yet bright enough for him to flip through a magazine before turning in for the night. I like the feature of clicking itself on if the power goes out. That makes me feel much better knowing my son can find his way to us from his room if this were to happen. The only reason I did not give it a full 5 stars is because you can unplug it to carry it to the bathroom or to get a drink in the middle of the night, but when you plug it back in it turns itself off. This has tricked my son a few times. I guess the best bet would be to not try to plug it back in after using it for a midnight dash.

I really want to give this a 5 star rating, but within the first month of having this, the button to change the light's brightness quit functioning. As others have mentioned, it is shaped perfectly for her to carry and my 2 year old loves her "Light Buddy" (as she calls it). It works very well as a nightlight and she does sometimes "read" with it. To my surprise, it is very bright, brighter than I like some nights.
