I've hunted coyotes since the mid 70's, back then you didn't need a lot of equip. to be successful. Now days a lot of pressure has been put on the coyote and they are very educated. You need to be diverse in order to bag Wiley E Coyote today, which brings up the Mojo Critter. The first day I tried it I shot a nice male coyote, it held the coyote's attention and gave me the time needed to place a clean kill shot. The intermitent movement is the key. I think this is one of the best decoys I've ever used.

I wasn't a predator hunter before I bought the mojo. The last time I remember predator hunting was with my dad when I was 10 (33 years ago). I was trying to keep the price down since I didn't know if it was a type of hunting that I would care for. The first time out with my Foxpro stingray and my mojo critter was incredible. I hunt mostly south Texas and with a warm south wind blowing a great big red coyote came charging at the decoy at 4pm in the afternoon. The next morning I set the speaker out with the decoy about 15 minutes before official sunrise and had to run back to my stand to get my rifle to shoot the female that was running right at the speaker and the decoy. I got to the stand at 6:50am to start setting up and was done at 7:05am with another coyote in the dirt. In the last 5 weeks I've killed 3 coyotes and 2 bobcats hunting maybe 7 or 8 times during that 5 weeks. One lesson learned is not to point the speaker directly away from where your set up. The first time I made that mistake I had to make a running shot on a male coyote and never had a chance at the female that was with him because the male saw me putting my rifle on the side of the stand because I hadn't gotten completely set up before they came to the call/decoy. That's right. Called in two at the same time. I am by no means an experienced predator hunter. Amateur isn't even a good description. I've just taken it up as part of my therapy after coming back from overseas. I still like hunting deer. Nothing beats chicken fried backstrap and tenderloin, but predator hunting is an action sport. One word of caution-if you're sitting under a tree with the speaker beside you and the decoy a few yards away and it's getting dark and you have on a rabbit fur mad hatter hat, watch for owls. They don't discriminate. This is a good entry level decoy, especially for the price. I've learned a lot of predator hunting lessons with it before I started adding some other animal specific decoys. But even with those I'll use the mojo just to make extra motion by sitting it in close proximity to another decoy.

When I hunted with my dad when I was little it was a nocturnal event. The latest I've killed any of the predators I've killed in the last few weeks was 530pm.

I would like to see one created with a delay before it starts spinning to get back to your hunting position. Sometimes they come that fast. I've read the comments about them being cheaply made. I haven't had a problem. I'm not doubting the others stories, it just hasn't been a problem for me. It's not the most expensive one out there, but nobody can argue its effectiveness.

This decoy has This is a necessity in your calling set up. takes the detection of your movements away as the animal stares directly at this. Only thing I would like to see is a longer wand for more action, but it does get their attention. Captures the eye of the wariest of predators. even calls in bobcats!!!
The batteries last a long time even in cold weather. I would recommend that you add this to your calling set up.

Good decoy for the money and does a great job in the field. First coyote I got with this locked on to it and covered another 200 yards to get about 25 yards away from it before I dropped it. Did not even have to continue to call once the coyote came into view. Then on multiple other sets it has helped seal the deal when I other wise probably would have been busted. The only issues I ran into was the fact that it has to be staked into the ground so during the middle of a hard winter the ground is to hard. Also the little pieces are just held on by zip ties so be careful it is easy to accidently pull off. Other than that a solid product from MOJO.

I LOVE IT. I never thought I would like to brag about the Critter Decoy. But you talk about working, it is the thing. Once you flip the switch, the sight fur starts to twirl, and the game is on. Excellent Shipping !!

The Mojo Critter broke the first time out. I set the unit up, turned it on, and the gears started clicking but the top piece did not move. I could spin it by hand, but it would not turn on it's own. I tried another set of batteries, but it still didn't work. It was cold that day (10 deg. F), so I don't know if this had anything to do with it, but I will definately be sending it back.

Works great, good realistic action with good battery life. Knocked a star because the wobbler arm is held on by a magnet and the magnet fell off the first hunt. Simple fix though a drop of super glue and good to go but something I should not have had to do on something brand new
