Ok first off this thing is meant for someone car camping (etc) or someone who's only going out for a couple days. Anyone who tries to use it as a "real" camping backpack (like me) is going to be disappointed. So why the 4 stars? Well, because it does what its MEANT to do very well.

First off there are three very nice sized pocket on the exterior of the pack (two to the sides and one to the rear). Good for cooking utensils, flashlights, ropes, cords, chemlights, tools, etc. The two on the side are about the size of a box of chicken broth and the one the back could hold two of them laid lengthwise (and also has a zippered mesh pocket in it).

The main cargo area has tie-down straps and lots of meshed pockets with lots of room to put plenty of stuff. On the exterior of this compartment are two extra pockets (one U-zippered top loaded and one side loaded) with the bigger of the two have some nice "small" organization areas.

The material is pretty heavy duty, the padding is adequate though as a smaller guy, I end up having to cinch the shoulder straps all the way in and don't get much of the padding. Also, it has the military style MOLLE system attachments on it, so expanding the pack with after market items is easy and doable.

Ok so problems...no built in areas for backpack/sleeping pad. Given, this pack isn't really meant for that but as a camper it means I have to eat up internal space and while it has a surprising amount of it, it doesn't have THAT much.

No hip belt. This pack is meant for quick removal and it shows. One plastic clip for the chest belt means all the load is on your back/shoulders. If you fill it totally I could easily see 50-100 pounds (depending on gear of course) on you and you need to be fit to be carrying that all on your back/shoulders.

Other than that, a nice pack. Good for the car camper/someone who wont be hiking too far into the backcountry.

This is by far the worst back pack I have ever owned! This bag is made out of substandered materials and poorely put togeather. With in two days the materials started to freay and exposed the inner contents. The zippers stopped properly working a few days later. I would highly advise spending the extra money to buy the name brad version of this bag (CamelBak). The cosntruction of the name brand and this current cheap nock off brand is like night and day in comparison.

Do NOT buy this bag!

Mine was ordered from Army Universe. This pack is nothing like the ones in the pictures. No side or back pockets, no mesh pockets or organizer in 2nd compartment. No tie downs straps in main compartment. No contoured back pad. What I got was a VERY basic canvas pack worth $20. I have contacted them to see how they will handle corecting the issue.

We ordered the assault bag for personal use at my fiancees job. He is in the military and needed a good assault bag.
The bad has a lot of storage room and was looking good when it arrived. After using it for 2 days the string broke.
I cannot recommend the assualt bag for military use.. it might be okay for personal use when u go camping and stuff.
It has a lot of room but when u pack it and it gets heavy the string broke... so not very useful

Purchased this from DBM Importers through Amazon. They shipped it fast, received within three days and packaging was great. I would buy from them again without any qualms.

I live in Southern California and I like to take 1-2 trips around the area since there's so much to do and see. I wanted a 'bug out' bag that I could pre-load should the urge strike me. I wanted a MOLLE bag so I could expand/contract the storage area as needed. I've researched this type of bag for 5-6 months on the Internet looking for something that had a lot of pockets and storage area. This one struck my fancy since it seem to have a lot of storage area without adding any. Comfort was also a strong consideration since I would be carrying it a lot. For what it had the price was very good since comparable bags were running $40-$100 more. It's also made by Condor what makes a pretty good array of tactical/backpacking equipment.

I made the purchase and haven't regretted it so far. Right now it's weighing out at 45 lbs and I carry it on a daily basis. Like I figured, it had great storage capacity and I am able to load it as needed. Currently it's outfitted with one change of clothes, Australian hat, Fox gloves, video and still camera, netbook, 1TB external drive and external DVD rw. It has a complete dispensary for any medical needs, Vitrinox rescue tool, binoculars, cables and charger. I carry six protein bars, special dried fruit mix. It has a compartment for a Camel type bladder with three tube outlets, which for me is a 24oz bladder. If I'm going way outback I carry a GPS emergency locator beacon. The shoulder pads seem well padded and cause me no discomfort after 4-6 hours of carry.

The only 'con' I have is the zippers seem stiff and I have to sometimes force compartments closed in order to zip them. I will say the zippers seem self-healing if forced.

At this point I am a very happy explorer. I have not regretted making this purchase. I would recommend.

I have used & abused this pack hiking around the Alaskan wilderness - and it keeps on taking a beating.

The only thing that would make this better, in my opinion, is if I could get someone else to carry it for me.

this is a very reliable pack, I have seen reviews where people have used this regularly for two years and it's like brand new. It's still going strong! Made by Condor outdoor.

Received in good time. Something I wanted for general all around use for weekend travel. Well constructed. The Molle straps do come in very handy for extra smaller pouches. Thank you

I just wanted to correct what a previous commenter had said about there not being a waist strap on this pack. There is one on mine - and one in the pictures here. I'm not sure what pack he is using.

This backpack does everything I want and more. Everyone comments how cool it looks and are amazed when I show them all the compartments/straps. Way cool backpack!!!
