Product Description

We've seen it and done it hundreds of times: grabbing the guitar out of the side of a partially unzipped case while standing up. We do this to save space, to save time, or to save our backs. This observation became the driving concept behind the Vertigo, the world's first top-loading guitar case. The top loading feature might have been enough, but we went ahead and redesigned the Headlock for automatic neck support. Then we created The Boot, a rubber sole designed for unsurpassed protection against vertical drops. The Vertigo features a fully redesigned Headlock neck suspension system. No strapping, buckling, or belting required. No extra steps. Just throw your guitar in and the neck finds a natural resting point in the base of the Headlock. Then zip the case up and the top section of the Headlock automatically clamps down over your guitar, holding it firmly in place. Your headstock is now fully protected against backward drops and side-to-side impact. Another first of its kind, The Boot takes guitar protection to a new level. Using manufacturing technologies from the footwear industry, the Vertigo bounces off of concrete like a pair of cross trainers. With its custom molded rubber outsole and EVA insole, The Boot also protects strap pins of all shapes and sizes from nasty vertical drops. Travel in confidence and style. The Vertigo does not open like a traditional guitar case. Its design allows you to quickly unzip the case and pull your bass out from the top. This is enabled by a hidden diagonal hinge on the front panel of the case. Once unzipped, the case naturally opens out and to the right. No need to lay your guitar case down on the floor. The Vertigo is appointed with smart storage and rugged hardware for a life of travel. A deep front pocket keeps your essentials at-hand. The optional Guitar Tick provides room for much more. Steel riveted handles and dual zippers come standard, as does the Sharkskin water resistant outer shell.

After many years with a hard shell case for my bass (Fender american j-bass) I got tired of lugging such a heavy and large case around. My goal was to find a gig bag / case hybrid where it has the protection of a hard shell but the portability and size of a gig bag. many weeks of reading forums and reviews from many websites led me to the Protec Cotego, Reunion Blues Continental, iGig, Fusion, Sadowsky, and the mono cases.

There were so many pros and cons to deal with, cost, quality, protection, weight, size, looks, and compartment spaces. I finally decided on the Mono Vertigo because it hit all those criteria pretty evenly.

Pros:
- the case looks amazing, the graphite gray with the red boot looks really great and overall a very simple and clean design.
- quality was top notch, from the zippers, outer fabric material, to the stitching, the bag felt very solid and durable.
- my Fender J-bass fit perfectly snug, felt like it was used as a fit model for the case.
- the bottom has a soft gel-like padding, along with the special rubber boot, there will seriously be no damage on your bass if you hit the bottom with the ground.
- the neck lock thing really holds the bass in place.
- there is a soft inner-lining to protect your bass, but special durable fabric where your head is and bridge to prevent tears.
- once zipped up, the bass holds its rigidness.

Cons:
- the neck lock thing fits my narrow j-bass neck perfectly, 5-string basses might have trouble if their neck is wider than normal.
- unlike the Mono M80, this case has 1 big pocket on the bottoms, i didn't mind since i only care a cable and strap, but for those caring more, you might need to get the tick ($90) if you need extra space.

I got this for my son. His previous gig bag was falling apart, so he knows how to abuse a bag! So far, he hasn't managed to more than scuff the bottom of this one. It has a huge rubber foot on the base, which looks like it should cushion the instrument from just about anything. The bass is automatically locked in place when it is in the case - no extra work needed to tie the neck in place. It's also easy to get the bass in and out. Just stand the case upright, unzip the top, and pull straight up. That's how I've been doing it with gig bags all along, but this one is actually MADE to be used that way! This case is obviously made to last, as well. Every aspect appears to have been well thought out. I highly recommend this case!

Purchased this as a gift. He researched and decided this was the case he wanted. He loves it, the fabric, the color, the compartments, and the ability to stand alone. This was the best price we could find.

The Vertigo Bass Guitar Case is simply the best case I've ever had for my bass. I use an Ibanez SR705 which is a 5 string bass. It fits perfectly in it and it is very well protected.
Pros:
+Great protection for your bass
+Amazing sleek design
+Straps are very comfy and have a nice weight distribution
+Every part of the case is very well made and nothing feels cheap
+It is a slim case and so that makes it really easy to put in any car, plane or bus compartment

Cons:
-Additional storage may be needed for most players and the mono tick that sells separately is rather expensive

This case is my every gig case now. A bit expensive, but it really protects my basses very well. Love the case.
