I am often skeptical of claims about having to spend lots of money on cabling in general. However, I have found through experience that speaker wire quality can matter. I have tried a number of different grades and types of wire in my house (in wall and out of wall) and found that I always had a fair amount of "line noise" that ultimately made the sound quality of my AV system poor. I finally broke down and purchased this speaker cable and was amazed at its performance. No more line noise in the system! I am not really sure why the wound cable configuration matters (I am not a physicist) but for whatever reason it seems to work. I have purchased three spools of this cable and replaced every speaker wire in my house with it. I would recommend it to others. Also, the price through Amazon is roughly half of what it costs in stores so buy it online!

- The outer jacket creates an optical illusion to make the inside wires APPEAR thicker than they actually are
- The copper strands are wrapped around a solid plastic core, making the actual amount of copper equivalent to ~16 gauge only
- Need to strip the inner jacket with care because you'll need every strand of copper
- For the price (~$50), would have like to see more copper for maximum signal transmission

Great cable. Used it for adding a second zone to my home theater system. Very solid, good pull through and great sound quality.

Perfect for any system providing you are not going hundreds of feet. The experts agree that 16 gauge is what you need and the resistance tests prove this fact.

Since the price was right on 100 ft of Monster Wire I ordered it. However, this wire must be at least 10 gauge, which the description does not specify. I actually needed to shave down the wire to accommodate my speakers and it is so thick that it does not fit in my speaker stands. I would only purchase this if I was running a speaker with very high resistance and wattage.

I purchased this speaker cable about a month ago, and within the past week. The sound quality is very good and it is very easy to install, both in-wall and out-wall.

I primarily bought this cable because it is rated for in-wall installations, which as I now understand is a new fire safety requirement these days. Apparently, this sort of cable is supposed to not help conduct fire. Who knows anymore when it comes to building codes. (Pretty soon, they will tell you that it's unsafe to go to the bathroom indoors.) Anyway, I bought one of these same spools at "Name Your Typical Retail Store" and was really chapped by the $100 bucks I paid, so I came to Amazon only to find it for $47.95. I needed another 100 feet, so I ordered it. It shipped quickly with no problems. It is easy to install as it glides smoothly through the holes I drilled in the studs. The cable is actually housed in a round-shaped, single tube that helps make pulling the cable easier. My basement project is still underway, so I can't tell you how it reproduces sound. I figure it ought to be good since it's Monster Cable and for the price I paid in both cases. Anyway, knowing it's rated for in-wall installations and that it's Monster Cable (there are a lot of strands in the wire), I feel pretty good about spending the $47.95 on Amazon for the wire. I would recommend it based on that.

This was just what I needed to complete my home entertainment system. Well that and a new TV but that is a purchase for another day. I have a 7.1 system and needed to get the cable back to the four rear speakers. I wanted the cables hidden and this cable fit the bill. After much research of both the products and the customers reviews I chose this cable. Not the cheapest but it definitely gets the job done and the sound is amazing whether watching TV or or playing Call of Duty. I would definitely recommend them.

This Monster cable is quality at a great price - that you can see and hear. The cable looks quality --- and the real payoff is in long cable runs. The signal doesn't drop off and tax your amplifier like lesser cables. For the amount of cable and the quality, this is an excellent deal.

This wire is pulled behind the walls and ceiling of our theater room. Using it with Klipsch Icon W 7 speaker setup. Driven by a Pioneer SC-55 Receiver's digital amplifier. Due to the twisted pair setup, this wire picks up no noise from AC lines. Audio is remarkably detailed. Awesome!

Best thing I did, was buy this stuff online. It's at least x3 times as expensive at retail stores.

Worst thing I did, was not buy enough initially. I eventually got enough to wire our room for 9.2 surround. I should have just bought the 500 foot roll. Instead I only bought x3 100ft rolls and ended up buy another x2 100ft later.
