but the fact is, while he might be able to figure vectors and orbits in his head, he just can't seem to follow orders or stay out of trouble. Also accidents seem to happen around him no matter how much or how hard he tries to do his best.
So when a spaceship crashed on the moon, Fred found himself in a trap. The people at the base had been given the ship's general location via the space station. He KNEW the info was wrong and he also knew where the ship was, but the Moon base only had so many tractors or men to search with and they couldn't mess this up the first time. They didn't have the time!
Now Fred had two ways to handle this. He could obey orders and let two men die. Or he could go out on his own and maybe save the two men by disobeying a direct order.
