4.0 out of 5 stars Good wheel brush
I'll be honest, I'm not even sure exactly what part of the wheel this brush is supposed to clean. 4.0 out of 5 stars Good wheel brush, July 27, 2009

I'll be honest, I'm not even sure exactly what part of the wheel this brush is supposed to clean. But I needed a brush to clean the rims of my car (which were pretty dirty) and this generally did the trick. First off, I did not use a high pressure water hose, just a normal one, this brush, and a bucket with car soap. And by and large it helped get most of the grime gently off my rims. The bristles are definitely soft, which is good because it won't scratch your rims. At the same time though, because the bristles were soft, it was unable to get out some of the heavy dirt that was caked in. Also, this brush has a relatively wide area so I could clean the outer surface of my tire and rim quickly. However, because it was big, it was difficult getting access to the nooks and crannies of my rims. For that, I recommend getting a Mother's Detail Brush which is more narrow (think of it as dental floss vs. toothbrush) Mothers Detail Brush Set - 2 Pack. The brush itself is quite durable and ergonomic, and not too heavy. One other issue I had is that once I cleaned my wheels once, a lot of dirt got into the bristles and i was unable to wash that color out. Though I don't think it tracks dirt once I washed it out.

5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect wheel brush, November 5, 2009

This is a great wheel brush (more specifically, for the rims). The size is perfect, the handle and its rubber grip make it comfortable to hold, and the head of the brush has rubber around it so the brush won't scratch the rims. The bristles are long and they are medium stiffness; it's the perfect balance of having decent scrubbing power while being safe on all wheels. The price from Amazon.com is perfect also; very high quality wheel brush at a reasonable price makes this an excellent value.

People should look elsewhere for a brush to scrub the wheel barrels and behind the spokes.

My only complaint is that Amazon.com does not ship this brush properly. I have ordered this brush directly from Amazon on two difference occasions and both times the brush is basically just tossed into a box or an envelope and upon opening the package, some of the bristles were reformed during the shipping process. This is no fault of the brush and I hope Amazon can figure something out to ship this item more carefully so that it arrives without any bristle deformities.

Update: I recently ordered two more of these brushes on two separate occasions and both brushes arrived with all of the bristles in their original form. I would no longer hesitate to order more of these brushes in the future from Amazon.com.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality product, December 8, 2011

Affordable, durable, cleans well. Definitively of the better car brushes I've owned.

I've used it around 15 times over the past year, and the bristles of the head are all still maintaining their form (big plus). Other brushes I've used tend to get that `old toothbrush' look after several uses, but this has resisted that very well.

Bristles are also very soft, so I've even found use in using it lightly while cleaning the car. Despite how soft the bristles are they still do a fine job cleaning and getting dirt/grime out, especially around and inside cracks/crevices.

Also, it's very easy and comfortable to grip; not awkward to use at all.

5/5: no complaints whatsoever.

I was going to buy another brand detailing brush. Yet the price kept me away....$39.99

This brush does great on my 18" KMC XD Monsters. Does a decent job, about what you pay for

Its not perfect but it saves my hands from constant bumping and scuffing my knuckles, takes a bit of work to make perfectly clean. Loving the use of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great, October 31, 2011
This review is from: Mothers Wheel Brush (Automotive)
This brush is well made! I've tried using the cheapo stuff from "Wally World", and this is unquestionably better quality. You pay to play when it comes to cars, and especially when it comes to detailing. This isn't even that expensive, and it's definitely worth the $1 premium over the OTC garbage you find at the brick and mortar auto parts stores.

Its bristles are dense but soft. They don't fall out and the rubber ring around the base of the brush is a nice touch. If you get overzealous with your cleaning and bump an edge of the base into your wheel--no harm done. The grip is rubberized as well to prevent you from dropping the brush while cleaning your wheels.

It works great on my painted and clearcoated Honda S2000 alloys. I take it with me to the touchless car wash and set the wand to a low-pressure stream of soap in my left hand and agitate the dirt on the wheels with this brush in my right hand. I look a bit peculiar, I'm sure; but it works great, it's fast, and most importantly it's safe on the wheels. If you've got some wheel cleaner, I am sure this brush will work wonders with that as well. Even standard bug and tar remover should suffice since this brush is so capable.

I have been using this brush to clean the wheels on my 2011 Subaru for a year now and it is holding up well.

The lengthy soft bristles do a great job of getting in and around all the nooks and crannies of my aluminum wheels so they look good and I never have to worry about scratches. The bristles have remained in the same condition since it was new.

This brush may be too soft if you're using it to clean really nasty dirty wheels but for the average wash job it gets it done!

I use this on my 1997 Grand Cherokee, my 2010 Grand Cherokee and my dads Camaro with chrome rims. Extremely durable and works great. I have used it on both chrome and aluminum wheels and have not had a single problem with scratches. This really is the best brush I have ever owned and gets into all the rim crevasses easily without my hands getting cut. The handle is very comfortable and has great grip. I suggest you pick this up

PROS:
Works Great
Extremely Durable
Comfortable Handle

CONS:
None that I have found

5.0 out of 5 stars good tire brush, March 25, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I was very pleased to finally be able to use the brush. The winters in Chicago leave cars a muddy mess, and the tires suffer from all the stuff in the gutters after the snow melts. So, I use this brush on the rims and tires of my car and lo and behold, the dirt and grime is easily cleaned from all the nooks and crannies! I still had to use a firmer brush on the tires, but maybe that is still because we have a lot of mess in the gutters and tires do not clean as easily as the rims. great product for the money.

Bought this along with two detail brushes. This one handles the brake dust that can be easily removed. the detail brushes are better for the more difficult to reach spots.
