4.0 out of 5 stars Great Phone Tool
I bought this instead of choosing to download multiple Ringtones online. This cost me less than $20 in total, and provided features I would have to pay a lot of money for if I tried to get the same results using the usual means (aka V-Cast and other Ringtone providers)

I edit my mp3 into clips and save the clips onto my phone, all with this marvelous product...

2.0 out of 5 stars Did some of the other reviews actually use this?
This is some of the worst junk, passing itself off as software, that I have ever used.

I use Outlook and a Palm Pilot. This software wrecked my contacts in Outlook and my Palm Pilot. It overwrote entries where I had complete information like street addresses and notes and replaced it with just the unformatted phone number. If I had more than one phone number...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Phone Tool, April 6, 2006

I bought this instead of choosing to download multiple Ringtones online. This cost me less than $20 in total, and provided features I would have to pay a lot of money for if I tried to get the same results using the usual means (aka V-Cast and other Ringtone providers)

I edit my mp3 into clips and save the clips onto my phone, all with this marvelous product. Not only does it make it a great phone tool, but you can edit your mp3 and save a new file with your changes. (You can save the editted file in several formats, such as .wav and .mp3)

Other features include transferring wallpapers from your PC to your motorola phone.

I have a Sony VAIO with Windows XP and a Motorola V3 Rzr and the product runs fine. There is a notable flaw, which is that sometimes the multimedia studio will not run. Reinstalling the program has fixed this issue when it arises. (Hence the 4 stars)

Another handy feature is that it charges your phone while it is connected. I just leave my phone hooked into the computer when I am not using it and am at home.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

If I had more than one phone number for a person on my phone, I got more than one contact entry. The ones it did not overwrite, it deleted outright. It messes up names and forces you to store names in a weird way. After the first sync I was left with an Outlook Contacts folder that looked exactly like me phone. On the second sync, many of the entries were duplicated in Outlook. And this was with the default settings! (Fortunately I exported my contacts immediately before I synched and was able to recover.)

As for the Calendar, whatever you do, DO NOT USE IT! Like the address book, it either deleted or duplicated entries 2, 3, 4 or more times after just one sync. It does not seem to know what to do with recurring appointments, at least if you have something scheduled in an unusual way like once a week on Wednesday or something equally unheard of.

Scattered throughout the program are pictures of rudely or scantily dressed teenagers. There is no way to get rid of them. All of the "please wait" screens have them. These images are perfect if you have a co-worker who is looking to win the sexual harassment lawsuit lottery. Perfect for your co-worker that is. Very professional.

On the positive side, you can charge your phone while it is connected to your computer. Fortunately, you do not need to install the software to do that.

The really sad thing is there is nothing else out there that I am aware of. The promise of USB connectivity is not realized with this application. That is the only reason I gave it two stars, otherwise, it would deserve 1/2 star.

5.0 out of 5 stars Purchased for the software, very satisified, June 5, 2006

This review is from: MOTOROLA Mobile Office Tools for Motorola RAZR V3 Cellular Phone (Wireless Phone Accessory)
We purchased this product for the software. It is much easier to update the address book using the laptop than by using the little bitty phone keys on our RAVR phones.

The software was simple to install, and is very intuitive to use. I find it much easier to use the computer and this software to make changes to the phone than using the phone. Also, by having this software you can upload your SIM card memory to your computer and then download it to another phone if you are upgrading.

If you are looking for a product that connects your Motorola phone to your computer to facilitate updating your phone this is nice product to have at your disposal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great and does just what I want, November 3, 2005
I was concerned after reading some of the negative reviews. I actually bought mobile phonetools from the company that writes the software for Motorola, BVRP. I paided $30 to download and $11 for them to mail me a CD also. It worked just fine. It installed without a problem. I recognized my RAZR. I put a cute little image of a RAZR on the screen. I transfered all my Outlook contacts and appointments. I generally just put in a phone number or two and basic appointments. Transfered fine. Asked about backing up before sync, too. The icing on the cake was the easy transfer of my videos and photos from the RAZR to my laptop. Then I saw what a lame digital camera a cellphone can be. I have used Mobile Phonetools for a week and I may add more in a month. The RAZR is not a smartphone, but this is a lot easier than typing all this information directly into the RAZR. And my Outlook contacts will grow year after year, but I know the RAZR is not forever.

5.0 out of 5 stars All Great with THIS product, August 24, 2006

I ordered this product and then read the reviews for the Mini USB Cabled product and had the sinking feeling that I had ordered a product that wouldn't work. But PRESTO! I loaded the CD ROM drivers and it worked immediately. I have a RAZR V3, XP Professional & Outlook 10.0 and this software and cable work perfectly.

Not only does it download Outlook Calendar items perfectly, but it gives me a choice whether or not to sync Outlook Contacts. The V3 phonebook is now tranferred into my computer, so if the phone is lost I'm not starting from nothing.

My favourite feature is the picture and video transfer from the phone to my computer. By downloading and then deleteing on the phone, phone memory is freed up and I can take longer videos, not just the 6 second MMS ones. Ever wondered why your phone has a camera when you can't really do anything with the pictures? This software was created to answer this question.

3.0 out of 5 stars the technlogy's there, but ..., October 3, 2005

This was a package that should have worked, but didn't seem to function when I tried to connect to my phone. It wasn't until later that I discovered that the cable was faulty (I had another cable from a digital camera I could try). Then I found out the software needed updating, but that's a minor issue. Even later, I found that the cable I purchased would work as long as I kept pressure on the contacts in the phone; I'm more worried about damaging my phone than I am about making this cable work, so I'm thinking about getting a bluetooth adapter for my computer. More expense, just to make this purchase worthwhile.

All in all, I'd say the technology works, and does what I wanted, but the individual product shipped was faulty.

1.0 out of 5 stars Chinese Aftermarket Product--DO NOT BUY!!, March 31, 2007
This review is from: MOTOROLA Mobile Office Tools for Motorola RAZR V3 Cellular Phone (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Cheap as it is in price, it causes expensive headaches! After I could not get this product to connect with my phone (which is a Razr V3m), I contacted Motorola for updates & help. They politely informed me that this product is a Chinese aftermarket product, not valid in the United States, and it will not work with my V3m. This product is misrepresented by this seller, Accessory Export. When I tried to uninstall it from my PC, it will not allow it to be removed. I had to reformat my entire hard drive (I'm an IT technician, so I know just a bit about computers!). DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT--IT WILL END UP COSTING YOU MORE IN LOST TIME AND POSSIBLY COMPUTER DAMAGE! MOREOVER, DON'T BUY ACCESSORY EXPORT'S ADVERTISEMENT!

1.0 out of 5 stars if you're thinking of buying this, think again, July 2, 2007
This review is from: MOTOROLA Mobile Office Tools for Motorola RAZR V3 Cellular Phone (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I have an older razr that I don't use anymore, but wanted the pictures off of it. I bought this for a coronary-inducing $0.01. It was STILL not worth my money. I installed it exactly the way it instructed, updated everything, and it would not recognize my phone. I wasted a good 3 hours on this "program" for aparently no reason. save your pennies.
