Amazon.com Product Description

Featuring the perfect blend of broadband-like speed, dynamic multimedia capabilities, and cutting-edge design, the MOTO RAZR V3xx is the first Motorola handset to ship with High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) and EDGE technology. The iconic RAZR design is still here, as is the all-metal construction, this time, though, the phone boasts an updated and streamlined design, enhanced media capabilities, a 1.30-megapixel camera, a hot-swappable MicroSD memory card slot, and more. Simply put, the V3xx is the perfect combination of performance and style, and the perfect complement to Cingular service.

Cingular, Motorola, and HSDPA high-speed data: the perfect combination.
Design
At .58 inches thick, the RAZR V3xx is virtually the same thickness as the original RAZR. And like the original RAZR, the phone's design takes the standard clamshell form factor to the next level with an impressive, fully-anodized aluminum construction, and 60 MB of internal memory. A large 240 x 320 color display with over 262,000 colors dominates the inside of the top cover, while the outside cover of the handset sports a supplementary 96 x 80 full-color display that can display caller ID pictures, time, call information, battery and signal strength, and more. The integrated VGA and 1.30-megapixel digital camera is housed above this display. Use the VGA camera for live two-way video calls at up to 15 frames per second. Up/down buttons are placed on the left side for volume control, as well as the camera button and mini-USB port.

Most of the phone's features and on-screen menus are controlled by a five-way center button on the handset's backlit control pad, which is precision cut from a single sheet of nickel-plated copper alloy. A mini-USB port is provided, which, while useful for fast data transfer, can also be used with compatible USB stereo headsets. Note that the phone does not have a standard 2.5mm headset jack. Lastly, a charging port is placed on the bottom of the phone, and an unobtrusive internal antenna is safely tucked away, keeping the phone's design compact and portable.

Calling Features
The RAZR V3xx's internal phone book can hold up to 1000 contacts while the phone's picture ID system allows you to assign pictures to your most common callers. The phone also supports polyphonic ringtones as well as MP3 ringers, allowing you to use portions of your favorite songs to alert you to incoming calls. For times when you want to be discreet, there's a vibrating alert. A built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear while voice activated dialing makes calling your friends, family and associates as easy as saying their names. Speaker-independent technology allows any speaker to dial numbers with the voice dialing system. And because the RAZR V3xx is Bluetooth enabled, wireless headsets for calling, and even wireless stereo headsets for music can be configured with the phone for total handsfree operation.

Messaging, Internet, and Tools
The RAZR V3xx is a messaging and wireless Internet powerhouse. With HSDPA and EDGE technology, the RAZR V3xx delivers broadband-like speeds for downloading, Web browsing, and data exchange. Leveraging these advanced capabilities, the RAZR V3xx allows for live two-way video calls at up to 15 frames per second, over the air music and video downloads, direct media streaming, and more.

Support is built in for sending and receiving pictures, text, graphics, sound and video via messages. When used in combination with the phone's built-in still and video camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. And because UMTS and HSDPA support built right into the phone, you'll be streaming and downloading at speeds so fast your head will spin. Used in combination with one of Cingular's MEdia Max plans that supports Cingular Video (additional Cingular charges apply), the V3xx will allow you to play high-quality news clips, sports clips, weather clips, and more--right on your phone. And with Cingular's exclusive partnership with HBO Mobile and HBO Family Mobile, you'll never be at a loss for something good to watch.

There's also a built-in web browser for MEdia Net downloads and mobile web browsing. Cingular's MEdia Net service lets you do more than just stream videos--it lets you receive and send emails, read news headlines, get weather updates, download games and ringtones, and more. iTap text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit--a plus for mobile email and text messaging users.

Getting on the Internet is easy with the V3xx. When used with a Cingular data plan and the phone's Bluetooth or USB data capability, the phone can be used as a wireless modem for laptops and PDAs.

A number of handy software tools are bundled with the V3xx including a calculator with currency converter, a calendar and an alarm clock. The phone can also be used with Motorola's Mobile Phone Tools PC application to manage and synchronize contacts, calendar and other data with your PC. The phone also sports an airplane mode feature, which allows the user to safely use the non-wireless functions of a phone (such as music, games, or organizer functions) on an airplane during flight.

Imaging and Entertainment
The RAZR V3xx's integrated 1.3-megapixel camera and VGA video camera bridges the gap between phones and quality digital cameras. Animated screensavers and full screen wallpapers are supported too, so you can set up the RAZR V3xx to suit your tastes. Lastly, the phone supports java-based games and applications.

The RAZR V3xx is a serious music phone. When the feeling strikes you, jam out to your favorite music on the unit's advanced MP3 player. The phone sports a microSD/TransFlash memory card slot, so you can load up all your favorite music and bring it with you (memory cards sold separately). And because the phone supports MobiTV and MobiRadio, in addition to streaming video and TV, you can listen to your favorite radio station via the supported digital radio service--great for times when you feel like listening to new music (additional Cingular charges apply).

4.0 out of 5 stars Hijacked by cingular, February 11, 2007
This review is from: MOTOROLA RAZR V3xx CINGULAR AT&T CELL PHONE RAZOR
This is an amazing piece of equipment. I have used the RAZR V3 for 2 years. This is only that much better. Bright screen. Brillient Graphics. Fast operating system. Huge memory. Decent camera. Quantum improvement over the original RAZR v3
The downside: Cingular has replaced the functional "Mail" button with their "Video" button. I own a phone to talk and text. Cingular wants you to watch "Video" ($10.00/minute without plan). Push that button by mistake and it will be a very expensive day.
A fantastic phone by Motorola undone by Cingular's "Marketing" department.
Can't wait to purchase an unlocked, unhijacked version of this incredible phone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome after an easy hack, March 5, 2007

This review is from: MOTOROLA RAZR V3xx CINGULAR AT&T CELL PHONE RAZOR
I've had a non-3G RAZR for a couple years, and recently upgraded to this. Coupled with an unlimited data plan, this is an absolutely stellar phone.

Users of past RAZR and similar Motorola phones almost won't recognize the OS. It's been hugely improved in almost every area - camera, media, address book, messaging, storage (including a a Transflash slot). It's also very snappy. Hardware-wise, the screen is bumped from the old 176x220 to 240x320 (QVGA). It's silky smooth and bright.

If you live in a Cingular 3G area, the HSDPA data is amazingly fast, and the voice quality is orders of magnitude better than any cell phone I've tried before - crystal clear. The built in browser is okay, but it really shines with the free Opera Mini browser.

The only disappointing thing is that Cingular has crippled the network access for Java applications. Using a non-Cingular Java application such as Opera Mini will have the phone asking your permission to access the network every single network request it makes. This gets really frustrating really fast, but a fix can be found with a little bit of googling.

Don't bother with this if you don't get the data plan... get a KRZR instead... many of the OS improvements are included.

5.0 out of 5 stars Razr V3xx is the best Razr phone availble., March 13, 2007
This review is from: MOTOROLA RAZR V3xx CINGULAR AT&T CELL PHONE RAZOR
The V3xx excels so much more than any other razor phone. The V3xx has a 247mhz Arm9 process which the V3/V3i/V3r only have a 40mhz processor, V3x 70mhz,Krazr K1 only has a 66mhz processor. Also the V3xx has more built in memory than any other previous Razr phones with 60Mb expandable w/ upto 2GB SD. Another note the V3xx has the Nvidia Goforce 4800GPU which is great for the gamer. I had much faster framerates on my Java games. The Goforce 4800 also conserves battery life when you are not using the phone. I had the V3r razr and the batter drained much faster. The V3xx comes with the best screen so far with 240x320 Qvga screen. The old Qcif screens just do not look this good it is amazing. V3xx is a HDSPA 3G phone one of the only ones that cingular provides. It is much faster than the old GPRS/Edge/UMTS formats and allows for faster data downloads. Streaming video, and audio is also availble which is a great feature. The video camera is very good and supports full screen playback. Lastly the phone supports A2DP stereo bluetooth 2.0 support.

Only drawbacks of the phone are the camera 1.3MP the Goforce chip supports upto 3MP and Motorola should of done that. Still most razr phones only have VGA or 1.2MP. Another drawback is the buttons ofcourse this is something common amongst all razr phones.

Pluses +
Qvga 240x320 display 256,000 color
