4.0 out of 5 stars Good quality, good service., September 7, 2011

I used once a slime tire liner, and the quality was awful, the finishes were so rough that the tire liner actually cut the tube.
But the Mr tuffy tire liners are totally different, nice and soft edges that do not damage you tube.
The product arrived just in time, excellent service.

I used to get flat tires all the time, even when I was just riding around on the streets and sidewalks. I live in an area with a lot of thorns and they were constantly getting the better of me. But since I've added these liners, I haven't had a single problem!

They add a significant amount of weight to your bike, so if you're crazy about every ounce, these liners (or any liner, really) are probably a bad choice for you. If you're not too concerned about every ounce and you're just looking for a way to ride longer and not have to spend your time and money replacing and repairing tubes, these WILL do the trick!

UPDATE: Over a year with these liners and no flats to report (none caused by thorns anyway; stem failures haunt me, but there's nothing these liners will do to prevent that problem). I'm blown away with how effective these have been! Also, a word on the weight; yes they will add weight, but it's less weight than you'd add with a thick "thorn resistant" tube. For me, the choice is simple; buy cheap tubes, use these liners and never look back.

5.0 out of 5 stars They work, March 21, 2010
This review is from: MR TUFFY Mr. Tuffy Tire Liner (Misc.)
I bought and started to use these back in early December because the only trail I have to ride gave me flats almost every time I rode. I would check the tire and find a thorn or two. It is now late March and I just noticed I might have a slow leak, so I checked the tire for the first time since installing Mr Tuffy. I pulled out no less than 30 thorns and the tire had only lost about 5psi since I filled it up.

Worked great with a puncture resistant tubes on goat head thorns. I would recommend to those in the western states.

I have 2 bikes, one 26 MTB and a 29 MTB and have a "brown" in each one and never have a flat, you have to control the preasure of your tires.
You have to wear down the two ends so the ends finish softly, this is very important, if not, somebody told me that the tape causes you the flat.
