Good product; high price. Shop around,
By Balto Reader "bils" (Baltimore, MD United States) - See all my reviews The Sopakco MREs are the real deal for easy, high-quality emergency food supplies, but you can get them for a much better price elsewhere.

Shop around.,
You can get these cheaper elsewhere. Also, if you get the Ham Slice or Frankenfurter entrees, just throw them away. Don't even bother actually attempting to eat them. The ham slice smells like cat food, and I'm not sure who they think they're fooling with those "frankenfurters." Keep the sides (they usually get packaged with decent sides), but throw away the main meals.

This is way too high a price.,
These can be had for $59-$69 a case elsewhere. Shop around, this vendor is overpriced.

MRE,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The service I received from the vendor was fantastic! The electricity in my town was off for about 7 days and during that time no deliveries were being made. I called the vendor and actually spoke with the CEO! He checked on my order with UPS and assured me of prompt delivery. He also showed concern with asking about the power outage by asking many questions and gave verbal support! wow! I got my MRE's about a day later and I share this story with everyone...the MRE packets are great and I will buy them again!

These MREs are Some of the Best on the Market,
By Arkham71 "Arkham" (Richmond, Virginia USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: MRE - APack Ready Meals - 12 Meal Packs (Misc.)
Over the past few months I have become interested in disaster preparedness, especially since the blizzard of 09. As a result I went online and ordered a number of half cases of MREs to try with my family in the interest of determining which brands that I should purchase.
To do this I had all three members of my family taste each entrée and rate it on a four point scale: Check plus - very good, Check -acceptable to good, Check minus - I'd eat it, and X - I'd rather starve. I also had everyone rate the general quality of the MRE on the same scale. This includes the raw amount of food, the overall quality of the side dishes (if any) and the sides, and the overall taste of the sides and snacks. After eating MREs for the entire New Year's three day weekend these A-Packs tied for first place with the Sopacs. (There was one MRE that did better then both of these, but they are almost impossible to find and are expensive because shipping is not included in the price per case. Since these were originally made for a certain security company that used to be named after dark "water" and were sold after they scaled back their operations in Iraq you can understand their scarcity.) The quality of the A-Packs is excellent. There is plenty of food. While there is no moist side dish in the A-packs this is made up through an increased number of snacks included in each MRE. The quality and taste of the entrée's was also very good, with one of them garnering an almost impossible to get check-plus. (Heck I'd eat that one pasta dish even if there wasn't a disaster). With that said I have purchased a supply of A-packs in case of a "rainy day" and I plan on purchasing more in the near future. I also have a few cases of the other two brands on hand just in case. Remember that during a multi -week disaster situation you will need to eat a variety of foods to avoid "menu fatigue" - you don't want to get so tired of eating the same thing over and over to the point that you just don't want to eat anything. Thus it's a good idea to include multiple types of entrees in your disaster store for variety. You also need to remember that the U.S. government has stated that a person shouldn't eat MREs for more then 20 days at the time. So if you're planning to store more then three weeks worth of food you will want to include some freeze dried foods in addition to MREs. You will also need some multi vitamins as well... Good luck with your disaster preparedness purchases. Remember, you need to prepare now because when a disaster strikes it is too late.

SOPAKCO IS A RIPOFF,
By Nachi (Miami, FL) - See all my reviews the same and equal to government-dictated, REAL MRE's being utilized by the U.S. military. This is NOT the case. This product is SOPAKCO'S version of whatever they choose to produce & distribute. I find this false and misleading advertising and can only imagine the millions of suckers like me who have been caught up in this trickery. I expected the "real thing," and received a fake. Very disgusted. Feel very "used." Nuts!!

SOPAKCO waning in Quality,
This review is from: MRE - APack Ready Meals - 12 Meal Packs (Misc.)
These are NOT Military rations, they used to be, but have gone down hill a lot over the last 7 years. I would bet a bean counter is running this outfit now. Protein is almost gone, now there is just oatmeal and veggie burgers. Your request for different meals gets an affirmative and the delivery shows a pile of xxxx!!! To Bad, they used to be a good outfit!!

Meals Ready 2 Eat,
By Stormynites "Stormy" (Storm Capital Florida USA) - See all my reviews provide a tasty meal especially when you are hungry. Not a bit like Nam Era MREs! These satisfy and taste good too. While a grunt and even later with Stormynites dot net these are perfect for emergency stash for your wheels or your hut. Pricey but priceless when the grocery store shelves are empty. This rates a four lightning bolt. Stormy
