5.0 out of 5 stars Nothing But Perfect from Alpine
I was looking for an amp that can power my 2 ohms set up I had with a set of Infinity Kappas in the front and back so after doing my H.W. saw this puppy and gave it a try, couldnt believe it, so crisp and stong now, the sound is perfect and since the speakers I have are 2 ohms this amp is used to its full potential of 75 watts rms for each of my 4-channels.

2.0 out of 5 stars This amp isn't very reliable
I bought it just over a year ago and I've had to get it replaced under warranty twice already!
The first time it just simply shut off and would not turn on. I had it sent back to Audio Kraze, they sent me a new one and I installed it. The second one worked fine for several months then for no reason channel 3 would only produce white noise.

The sound...

I listen to all types of music. I was looking for a system that was powerful and crisp, not bone crushing, The Alpine MRP-F300 amplifier was a perfect fit for my Fit. It gave the power and clarity to the Sony head unit I was looking for. Combined with component and coaxial Polk speakers and with an Infinity Baselink powered sub, my system is a perfect Fit for all my listening needs. I always drive with a smile.

I purchased this amplifier to power a set of Alpine 6 X 9 (SPS 609's) speakers. My original plan was to have this amp power a sub-woofer along with the 6 X 9's. After making my connections to my head unit, speakers, and power supply, I discovered that a sub-woofer was really unnecessary for the type of sound I was trying to achieve. I was not interested in earth-shaking bass, but rather deep, rich bass to compliment the highs. The amp helped my full-range speakers perform exactly in the way they were designed to perform...excellent!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Alpine still has it!!, September 16, 2009

I bought this Amp on a budget and just wanted to power a sub and my back speakers because the stock Honda nav system has low voltage to the rear speakers so it's all front and no bass, Etc. SO I hooked this thing up to my old Pioneer Subwoofer box thing (Like $200 in the day/ 12 years ago or more) and hooked it up to my POLK 6 1/2 component speakers in the rear deck (And they have cross over boxes) WOW!!!!!! I had to turn the gain to 52% on the sub and 25% on POLK spkrs. This thing bumps but keep in mind it is not a 500 WATT AMP so I am not shaking peoples houses either!. Distortion is low (I hear NO Hiss) I am using the Sub Eq switch and have the cross-over turned all the way down on sub. it sounds killer! I am completely satisfied but have now built a new (Sealed) box with a R Fozgate Sub and need more power!! I am looking at a higher voltage Alpine.
***My Gripe.. I ran 4 AWG power wire and the terminal ends on the amp are small and you have to trim the GRND/PWR wire to 8AWG to use the terminal ends that I bought at FRY's for $1.99 and Heat shrink too. I tried to find a 4AWG reducer type terminal end with NO LUCK! but it works great and looks good!!

5.0 out of 5 stars I <3 alpine, January 20, 2011
This review is from: MRP-F300 - Alpine 4-Channel 300 Watt V-Power Series Amplifier (Electronics)
This unit has enough reviews on it so ill keep it short
You usually get what you pay for... but I almost feel bad for paying so little for this amp ($130).
Alpine made a nice compact amp that has plenty of power for most speakers. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to spend less than $200 on an amp.
Theres many other better amps out there, but for the price range there isn't any other amp I would even think about installing.

Other details
* tiny foot print, fits under seats, panels and virtually mountable anywhere
* Does not come with any extras, just a harness, plastic trim, and a great amp
* It stays relatively cool even when i crank it up

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Value, June 15, 2008
This review is from: MRP-F300 - Alpine 4-Channel 300 Watt V-Power Series Amplifier (Electronics)
I purchased the MRP-F300 to drive a set of four Boston Acoustic SX60 separates (4-ohm with crossover). During setup I was checking speaker phasing and also ran a test on the amp to compare input to output driving the 4-ohm load. It was very accurate and stable driving positive and negative impulses at full volume and there was no appreciable distortion on the sinewave test (only tested down to 60 Hz). I can't say how it will perform driving a low-impedance sub but it makes a very nice platform for speakers in the 60-75 Watt range.

I purchased this amp along with the Alpine MRP-M500 to power a 12" sub in a bandpass enclosure, 1 set of Alpine SPS-600 6 1/2" speakers for the front doors, 1 set of Alpine Type-S SPS-609 speakers for the rear deck, and an Alpine CDE-103BT head unit. All I can say is wow! I purchased all of the components from AUDIOSOURCE, and they were EXTREMELY helpful. When I placed the order, I messed up and accidently bought 2 sets of the 6 1/2 speakers. They made everything right by sending me out the pair of 6 x 9s, and asking me to ship the pair of 6 1/2s back to them at my convenience.

Anyone who questions the power and clarity of the sound coming from this amp or any amp in this series probably has issues of their own that need to be addressed. All I know is that having used all Alpine components, everything in my car is crystal clear and mind blowing. What I can tell you with absolute certainty is that if you were to turn the volume up to 85% for a sustained period of time, you would blow out your ear drums with my configuration.

I am not sure what my volume level goes up to for sure, but when my volume level is at 20 on my alpine unit, I can barely stand to be in the car. I have had it as loud as 27 when the guys that installed it for me were testing things out. Generally speaking, between 8 and 15 is as loud as I ever have to go. Anything above that (for me) is just plain stupid.

One other thing to note is that when you are using high powered amps such as mine, invest in a quality capacitor. I have a 1.75 farad capacitor immediately in front of my two amps, and I suffer no power sags when the volume is turned up. Maybe some of the complaints or comments that suggest that there is a performance problem with their configuration are putting too high of a drain directly on their battery/alternator.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Sounding AMP Alpines best., March 30, 2011
This review is from: MRP-F300 - Alpine 4-Channel 300 Watt V-Power Series Amplifier (Electronics)
This is a beautiful sounding amp. Plenty of power for moderately efficient speakers. A tad bright but not in a annoying way. I would go as far to say this is a much cleaner and more open sounding than alpines own PDX amps. I have this running 8 speakers on a boat. the crossover is easy to use and adds no distortion. It plays very clean into 2 ohm loads. Highly recommended for powering full range speakers.

sounds clean, looks clean, easy to set up and configure.

has pre out RCA connections in case you have more amplifiers to connect without splicing cables

built solid as well

take care not to drop the amp as the plastic mounting brackets on the corners are easily breakable
