Alpine's V Series is a nice series of mid-grade amplifiers. They aren't high end, but they price is isn't "high end" either. They are efficient and work well with vehicles that don't exactly have a lot of extra amps available for powering amplifiers. I run an MRP-M500 and an MRP-F300 in my Honda Fit and they both supply me with good, clean power without taxing my car's electrical system.
In my system, the M500 is powering a 12" subwoofer in a small, sealed box. That's not exactly a formula for maximum bass impact, but the M500 does a great job pushing my subwoofer to its fullest potential. The Class-D circuitry makes the amp very efficient so that it will work well in most vehicles electrical systems. The only downside I've found is that the EQ functions are rather limited. You get controls for center frequency, crossover point, and bass boost. It makes it a little more difficult to get a smooth sound between this amp and your four-channel amp. It just takes longer than if there were more EQ controls. Also, the bass boost puts a definite peak in its frequency output so that the amplitude drops off above and below the center frequency. That means that if you want to get the maximum power output, your range is going to be somewhat limited. Overall, I'm very happy with the M500. As long as you're not looking to power a massive, inefficient subwoofer, it should give you a very smooth, musical sound.

This amp rocks! I wired it to an Alpine Type-R SWR-1242D - Car subwoofer driver - 500 Watt - 12" in a sealed box and it gets loud enough to make my hair shake while maintaining great SQ. It doesn't get very hot; I've always been able to put my hand on it comfortably. There are removable endpieces that make it easier to hide the wires. I used spade tongue terminals on all the wires, slid them beneath the screws and then screwed them down, which makes a very secure connection and is easily removable.

A Powerful little amp indeed! Matched this with the new 2010 Alpine type r 12" 1243D DVC subwoofer, a sealed .99cu ft box and it's clean. This amplifier puts out a true *certified* 500W RMS unlike many other "budget" amps that can't meet their claims.
If you're looking for an amp that performs very cleanly and efficiently, while still pushing some major power, then this Alpine amp is definitely what you're looking for.

Great sound for less,
This review is from: MRP-M500 - Alpine Monoblock 500 Watt RMS Power Amplifier (Electronics)
The Alpine M500 is a wonderful little amp for subs. I have it installed under my drivers seat and it fits perfectly. I have 2 Kicker CVR 10s running off this beauty. The amp puts out good power and is very stable. I have not had a problem with it yet. I have had it in for about a year and it has held up and works great. I am running my amp on 2-ohm impedance and it performs wonderfully.
If your looking for great value and great sound, get this amp. It is a wonderful starter amp that will perform beautifully.

If you currently own The Alpine Type R Sub, or any sub with an RMS of 500 watts, this is the amp for you! Handles power well. Easy to connect, and has a built in Crossover.

First off, I would like to give props to the seller. This package got the me the day after I ordered it. Above and beyond, and I thank them for it.
In the world of car audio, it's hard to find an amplifier that advertises 500 watts that actually gives you all 500. Usually, if you manage to squeeze that out of them, they only give it to you for about 10-15 minutes before they overheat and set your car on fire leaving you and your family flying down a hill in a flame-engulfed pile of scrap metal wondering, "why didn't I just spend the extra $100 on my amplifier?!" This, folks, is the exception! Alpine doesn't use any sketchy math loopholes, they just give you what they advertise. Enough with the hyperbole. When this box arrives at your house, what you get is a sleek looking amp with a small footprint that is power efficient and keeps on chugging. I have this amp installed in the glove box behind the passenger seat in my 350z and after 2 hours of driving around listening to dubstep cranked up to 11, it's still less hot than some plates that have been handed to me at restaurants. The audio quality is amazing. It may not have the most full featured EQ on the side of it, but the low pass filter cut off does get the job done. I would recommend, as other reviews have, to leave the bass boost alone. It's a pretty abrupt difference in volume with it adjusted any higher than 0. I'm using this to drive to 10" Rockford Fosgate Punch subwoofers I found laying around, and for the price of this amp, I definitely got MUCH more than I bargained for.

I researched ALOT before making this purchase.... Trust me at the price point you wont find ANYTHING that comes comes close to this little bad boy. It pounds the heck out of my Kicker 10" and runs very cool at all times even under heavy load. Cant ask for more.

This product is amazing if you have the appropriate cabling and other components, especially for the price. i would really recommend this to anyone wanting quality sound on a budget. Just a suggestion, order subs that run at 2 ohm.

I have this amp powering a type-r 12" vented i a 2001 Ford Explorer. The instructions that came with the amp are wonderful and I was able to hook it all up and wire my truck within 2 hours. The amp never gets hot, even while blasting music on my 2hr trips between school and home. Gives a true 500 watt RMS and easily pushes my sub. May be purchasing a second amp to push a second sub in the near future!Cons-Tuning features are limited but with a decent head unit you have more options to get the sound where you need it.

Cheap amp, got a decent beat to it. It did comes with one of the mounting brackets bent though., I was kind of upset about that but it still works fine I guess. Packaging was great, very secure, and got here almost immediate. Very good shipping.
