I have a fairly large head and have used both full face industrial respirators (was certified) and the disposable sick-patient type. This mask is a happy medium. I had to wear it for 3 hours straight and it wasn't bad. It didnt get too hot. I knew it was working and felt safe.

The filters definately worked because after a few jobs they were done. I could see all the junk they saved from my lungs.

I am on here buying replacement filters. I just can't see there being any better alternative for toxic dust and serious protection, with a balance of comfort. It is very lightweight.

Still in search of a good mask. This was nice because it was low profile and I can get organic and dust filters for it. The low profile dusts are very nice and makes for a small compact mask which is nice crawling around celings. Fit wise they only have one size which is a tad small for me but works. I usally use the 3m mask which the rubber feels softer on and a better plyability making a better fit. The 3m masks also have a quick release on the lower straps this does not you need to put it over your head to take it on and off a pain with safety goggles. Also once you tighen the straps they are hard to relase and stick out in your field of view so you need to cut them shorter or tuck them in every time.

I recently had a small amount of vinyl floor tile to remove, and it contained a small amount of asbestos. After talking with an abatement professional, I purchased this respirator and a good heat gun and carefully removed the tiles. I needed to have the windows open and work under negative air pressure, so it got very hot in the area where I was working (90 degree day in the south). The MSA respirator was comfortable throughout the removal. The MSA respirator is easy to adjust, and when you get the straps in place, the soft rubber surround forms well to your face for a good comfortable seal. The HEPA filter disks are easy to replace, and give you confidence in breathing clean air in most environments.

I use this mask when I'm doing hardcore sanding and painting...it's great. Unlike the crappy paper masks this one actually allows you to BREATHE easy while working. The filters claim to stop everything...I'm still alive after staining a ton of stuff and sanding plywood furniture. Good product.

I have been wearing respirators for 15 years. I've tried countless different styles, designs, and brands. I have to say that this mask is the most comfortable. The blue gel part that rests on my face is comfortable and durable. My working environment is extremely warm and humid and I sweat a lot. This mask provides the best breathability, comfort, and humidity release.

I spend a lot of time in my woodshop. I needed a dust respirator that was very confortable to wear for long periods of time. This dust respirator was a good choice. It is small and has very good adjustment straps that is easy to tighten for use and loosen for removal. Since some species of wood dust is considered toxic the filters that come with this respirator is perfect.

Not much to say other than it is an excellent dust mask. Very comfortable (I have a narrow angular face) to wear for long periods and easy to take on and off. The rubber part forms to your face very well.

The disks are great and easy to replace. This thing pretty much has saved me from breathing in all kinds of bad things, which is a good thing.

I have allergies and I'm sensitive to dust particles and this thing really works b/c when I wear it, I notice that I never sneeze. Heck when my allergies are really bad I'll wear this around the house :-) I've used this mask to tear up 30 year old flooring, sanding paint, tearing down a rotted wood shed, etc.

I just wish these things have wear indicators on the disks, so you can tell when you're near its limit.

I've had this product for 5 months and use it for light work, about a couple hours each weekend. The fit is good and the respirator is comfortable to wear.

But as others have noted, they tend to get smells with this respirator that they don't get with some others. And to be clear, this isn't an organics respirator, it offers no protection from solvents. But I work with metals and I pick up some metallic smell from grinding and sanding -- and I really shouldn't. But the respirator still offers far more protection than a disposable face mask.

But this last weekend, the outtake valve (the one in the center) stopped working altogether. THIS IS A BIG DEAL! Without a properly functioning outtake valve, this mask offers no protection whatsoever. And the respirator died far before the cartridges.

So if you buy this, be careful, and be sure to check the center valve each use. (If you cover both cartridges with your hands, no air should come though on an inhale). But I'm thinking that the valves on this particular respirator aren't well-built -- they have to close quickly and reliably to be effective -- hence the metal smell and the short lifetime. I'm trying a different brand now.
