This card uses a better cooling fan setup, hence it stays cooler and actually you get more performance from this then the R9 270X with a stock cooler. This card is easy to overclock, you just slide ALL of the sliders to the RIGHT and you get awesome overclock rates. Overclocked this card actually has HIGHER benchmarks in 1080p gaming then the brother R9 270X which cost you up to $20 more. If you're a gamer and like to save money getting BETTER benchmarks, choose this card over the R9 270X card, your Battlefield 4 gaming experience will thank you.

While I'll admit I have several of these cards used for mining I took a day to see what they could do overclocking wise and in game. This card actually overclocks further than most of my 270Xs. I have 4 of these and all of them hit 1130 core/1500 memory completely stable mining 24/7 for over a month now at 481 KH/s each. In games I can get these above 1200 core stable as well. Stock voltage is 1.176V and is unlocked, however I have never needed to up it while my 270Xs have been much more finicky. The main reason I love these cards is the single 6 pin power connector required. Also the old fans these cards used have been fixed and no longer leak oil as frequently as they used to so no more RMAs to worry about. I have 6 270Xs and only 1 of them is able to beat these overclocking and performance wise.

Overall here's what you need to know.

- Single 6 Pin Power
- Easy overclocking
- 480+ KH/s (Gaming performance greater than some 270Xs)
- Fans are silent (Fan problems have been fixed now)
- Unlocked Voltage (1.176V stock)

First off, this card IS indeed eligible for the silver tier rewards and Amazon is an official partner for that. You may have to select it from this page though (found on AMD's website): http://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&node=8460792011 but note that it likely has to be purchased from Amazon and not from one of the other vendors on here, which people might do and wonder why they didn't get the promo code. Easy detail to miss.

Now for the card, this thing is notably lighter in weight than the 6870 reference I was upgrading from. Looks great, runs quiet and cool, and had no trouble uninstalling old drivers and putting in 14.4 (no crashes/BSOD). Also note that the R9 series has recently gotten a price drop, so the 270x from before went from $230 to $200 I believe. Keep that in mind in case you feel the overclocking potential is worth the (current $20) price difference. It theoretically can go higher. Also, only 1 short 6 pin connector was included and a disc that I didn't use but I just used the wire that comes with my PSU.

For the magic, you just move the core and memory sliders (as in only these 2) in Afterburner to the max and you go from 955 core and 1400 memory settings to 1050 core and 1500 memory clock with no issues at all. I don't think anyone has needed extra voltage or power allowance for that, so consider it free extra power with no added heat. The other dood said he pushed it to 1200 core, so there's plenty of extra headroom with the 1 pin voltage apparently. In their Kombustor test (MSI's prime95 for graphics cards that can be installed with, and in, Afterburner) this simple overclock increased the total performance by 3 FPS for me starting at 43-45 FPS and going to 46-48.

Despite having one of these with high heat issues recently, The other 10 I have used have performed wonderfully. They are easy to set up and work very well. In general they run very cool and give high performance.

I upgraded from a GTX 560 and I have to say... this card is a BEAST. I was lagging Battlefield 3 with the GTX 560 but once I switched to this, my FPS was better and everything ran smoother. Radeon is finally doing a good job competing with Nvidia.

I bought this card thinking It would be a decent replacement till I could afford a better card. But after installing it and running it on gaming mode with stock clocks was I surprised at the power and the quality some games im getting better fps than my friends gtx 770 and others its getting the same fps as my friends gtx 770 running stock clocks with the gaming app set to gaming. other than manually setting the fan speed to 100% it has never gone higher than 60% fan speeds and is still quiet even at 100% the noise isn't that bad. I recommend this card to anyone that wants great quality and great performance for a nice price. price to performance ratio you'd think you'd get with this card is way higher than I expected

This is the card I used when putting together my new rig. You can see the rest of my reviews if you care about what other components I used. I didn't have a ton of money to spend and this was near the high end of what I felt comfortable buying. I don't use my rig for mining so all I wanted was something that could play all the newer games as well as being able to handle upcoming games for at least the next year along with high def video streaming/editing.

Right away I was amazed at how huge the card is. Even with the specs I measured my case ahead of time to make sure it would fit but it dwarfs my previous video cards. This is also a double slot video card so if you are like me and using an ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard this card covers up the PCI slot. That particular slot on the board is sort of an odd placement anyways. Fit well in a Rosewill Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case CHALLENGER-U3 Black and came with all the requisite driver discs and additional software. You need an internet connection to get all the best drivers so keep that in mind also. Crossfire compatible so that is a bonus but what I really appreciated was the ability to run 4 monitors on just this one card. The fans are really quiet even under heavy use, my case fans are louder than this. All of the games I play regularly run on max settings above the sweet spot of 60 fps. Most run in the 120+ fps and with the addition of Afterburner I can monitor the complete performance from individual fan speeds to temperature.
