Rock stable board. I love that it has a connection to front panel USB 3.0 ports. It has lots of audio options, and the rear IO shield isn't a piece of chrome-plated steel. It has OEM-level graphics that will make your custom PC look like the professionally assembled towers made by the big boys. Defaults to AHCI if you're using an SSD, which is what you want. It correctly uses Intel's TurboBoost on newer Core i5's and i7's to give you both power and minimal energy consumption. As an H77-based board, it does NOT overclock the CPU. The MSI H77M does support XMP for your RAM, so if you have some higher-end RAM, it will work at full speed.

Ultimately, I returned it for a Gigabyte Z77M board so I can overclock, but this is NOT a bad product. ESPECIALLY for the price.

This board doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the Z77 based boards, but the H77 should be fine for anything less than the most demanding applications. I'm using it for an Ubuntu based home server: a bunch of drives, file sharing, media server, and half a dozen virtual machines for work. Combined with a 65W Ivy Bridge i5 processor and 16GB of RAM, it barely breaks a sweat.

All the BIOS features worked perfectly out of the box, except for SpeedStep under Linux. Updating the BIOS (which was a breeze with a USB drive) to version 1.8 fixed that though. My CPU is unlocked, so I tested overclocking even though I don't need it. Worked just fine. It also supports Intel TurboBoost, integrated CPU graphics, and all the energy saving features available on the LGA 1155 platform.

I haven't used it, but it comes with CrossFire support, and not SLI. So if you intend on gaming, that may affect your choice of GPU. The board itself feels very sturdy and well-built, and the front USB 3.0 header is a nice touch. Great way to connect a fast thumb drive to boot from. There are 2 additional ports on the back. The manual isn't in perfect English, but it's pretty easy to figure out what it means when the translation is off. It goes through the entire tree of BIOS options in enough detail to save you from looking up most of them online. A definite plus.

Overall, excellent features and value for a board based on the mainstream Intel H77 chipset.

This is the first motherboard I've ever bought/owned. I chose this because I was looking into building PCs and this looked like a good starting ground. This board has all the essential features that you would need. As you can see from the pictures this board is super bare bones.

I gave this a 4/5 is because for the money ($90 when I purchased it) this was the best I was going to get. This thing doesn't have enough PCI slots, it uses a 4 pin instead of 8 pin for the CPU, and the USB 3 connector was not right angled. Other than these couple of things the board is solid it's still running till this day. In the box you get two SATA cables and I have an SSD for the OS and WD blue for mass storage.

I would have no problem recommending this board (if you can still find it) its grate for something like a budget build like mine that was around $500.

Fantastic board for non-overclockers. Also supports Xeon E3 processors for people who don't need integrated graphics. Great price/performance. Note that the Front Panel USB connector location could possibly interfere with a drive cage in smaller cases such as the Silverstone PS07B.

I bought five of these, four for machines at work, and one for a personal machine. One board was DOA. However, the amazon RMA process was unbelievably easy and the money was credited to my account the same day as UPS picked up the return package. I was able to order a replacement the same day (I couldn't get a straight exchange because it was out of stock with Amazon, but I got it from another seller fulfilled by amazon).

The board is really great to use - easy to set up and the modern bios has a much simpler learning curve than older bios styles, so setting up to boot from a usb key was a snap (I don't have an optical drive). Overall, I would highly recommend this board, especially if you don't need to add any PCI cards (there are only PCIe ports, and there is not a lot of space on the board for expansion cards).

I have had this motherboard only a month, but so far have not had any problems. The only downside is that I cannot figure out how to turn on my computer from my laptop or cell phone using the on-board Ethernet adapter as I did with my other motherboard.

This board set up with no issues as a replacement for a major computer manufacturer's motherboard ,which was rife with problems, since buying the desktop 2 months ago. (It is a design issue so getting another motherboard from the manufacturer wouldn't resolve the problem) Push one key to set the memory size and load the driver CD and it was good to go. Make sure to set the CPU fan temperature limit in the bios, otherwise the CPU fan runs wide open.
