Coming from a Radeon 6870, this card completely destroys all the games I used to run on medium-high. I play a lot of BF3 and while the game would auto set my video settings to high while using the 6870, I found the frame rates weren't suitable for the way I play. I like buttery smooth frame rates so I would drop my settings to medium or low and would average around 75fps. With this card I get well above those frame rates and now I can finally play on ultra with everything including AA turned up to the max. I've also tested the Dolphin emulator (wii-gamecube emulator if you're not familiar) and I get an avg of 60fps in all wii games tested at 3x native res.

Before I bought this card I was on the fence about getting two of them off the top to run in SLI. I'm glad I didn't because it's simply not needed. That being said, I've looked at benchmarks for this card while in SLI and the scaling is amazing. I would recommend getting two (or looking at the 780) if you're going to be playing at resolutions higher than 1080p.

This card is rather large. If you're tight on space you may want to reconsider and look into the other 770 models. I have a mid tower case (Corsair 600t) and the card hangs over the ATX motherboard by about an inch and takes up two slots on the rear of the case. You'll need two 8-pin PCI-E power connectors to power the card. Another important thing to note is that this card doesn't run hot. Under load it will reach the mid-high 60C's and will idle in the low 30Cs. I do have a lot of airflow in my case and I use water cooling for my CPU which may help keep these temps down. That being said, while in idle I can feel cold air being blown from the rear of my case and while under load the air is slightly warm but certainly not hot.

I decided to upgrade from my reference EVGA GTX 670 because I wanted something that I could push a little further fps wise and I needed something that was slightly cooler and more quiet. I am a 1080p gamer and the 670 did a great job in all my games, but I wanted some additional fps gains in titles like FarCry3, DayZ, BF3, and Crysis 2 and 3. In max settings with the 670, it would dip below 60fps in some scenarios in certain games and I wanted to prevent that dip with out having to buy a 780 or a Titan. I did a lot of research and found that several hardware websites considered the MSI Lightning 770 a top pick due to its great out of the box overclock, excellent overclock ability, great cooler, how silent it was, and the quality of parts used to manufacture it. The average performance increase that I have seen over a reference 670 is about %14-%18 (or about 10-20fps depending on the game). In 3Dmark11, my 670 at stock settings would score around 8700, the MSI Lightning GTX 770 out of the box scored 10,500. I've managed to push that score up to 11k by doing some small overlocks using Afterbuner and boosting my CPU overclock up a extra 200mhz. I am sure I can push it further easily based off the little bit of testing I have done. This MSI 770 is amazing. I'd recommend it for any gamer looking for a solid video card to give you high performance for the next few years. You will not be let down!

You want a solid graphics card for a gaming rig, you generally have to pay for it. This was a toss up for me between the lower end 660ti and the 770 lightning. I've heard good things about both, but went with the higher cost but longer term buyout of the 770 lightning, which should last me years. A breeze to install, aside from the sheer size of it, and its running beautifully.

In all seriousness, though, verify that you have the room for this card before you buy it. Mine was a tight squeeze, within millimeters, but was worth every penny.

MSI knows how to make video cards. It is one of the most careful manufacturer in ventilation and quality of components used. One of my first recommendations when it comes to the video card. The GTX 770 is the best value at the moment. I consider the 780 too expensive. Almost bought the R9 280x Sapphire, but the price was absurd at the time. Glad MSI respects consumers and not put exorbitant prices. If they keep making good products at honest prices, will always have my respect.

this card is amazing it is in my opinion the best 770 out there but it is hard to find. love the backplate gives it a nice finished touch i just wish the led's were either color adjustable or had a on/off switch either physically on the board or in the software. there are a lot of the suckers on the back of the pcb that shine through holes on the backplate and the mini pcb board under the blue orb has 1 too.

I've had no problems at all with this graphics card. It's quick possibly the best 770 on the market, and although the GPU reactor on the top, I don't believe, makes any noticeable difference, it could possibly give the card cleaner power and more stability overall. Although it could be intrusive if you run two in SLI, but if you take the top cover off of it, It won't take up any more room than a normal card. It cools very well and is very quiet. The only thing I don't like about it is that the blue lights on the top are unable to be turned off. It's not a big deal for me because I have a blue theme in it anyways :) The yellow is completely unseen when it's in your case, so that's good because it's pretty rare to have a yellow themed PC. Keep in mind you're going to need a power supply with two PCI Express 8-pin power cables to run the card.
