I just built a new PC running Windows 8.1 64-bit using this board and it is the perfect "premium" uATX board for the price. It's actually designed to work with the latest version of Windows 8.1. First thing you'll notice is that is looks very nice and uses very high quality components throughout. There are lots of anodized black/red aluminum heat sinks with an integrated heat pipe. All of the board components are rated Military Class 4 and has built-in anti ESD suppression. There are 4 DIMM slots supporting up to 32GB but keep in mind that when running in dual channel memory mode you have to use DIMM slots 2 and 4 instead of 1 and 2.

This board is packed with features. There are 8 SATAIII 6 Gbps drive connectors and 4 rear USB 3.0 + 2 USB 2.0 ports. Also notable are the inclusion of 4 video output types including HDMI, Displayport, DVI and VGA but that's not all..the board supports triple displays and 4k UHD too! In terms of audio there's an optical SPDIF out in addition to analog and HDMI audio out. Onboard audio amplification is handled by a dedicated and isolated circuit for clean distortion free sound even when used with large hard to drive headphones. It even has a cool looking LED board "trace" and LED lit "Audio Boost" label. The analog audio connectors are all gold plated.

The onboard reset/power and single button Overclock Genie switches are very convenient. Since the board has its own power/reset switch you do not need to install the board into a chassis before adjusting the BIOS settings or hooking up peripherals and even installing the OS. The board has 3 smart fan headers which can be controlled/set in the BIOS or via the Command Center while in Windows. On the software side the BIOS is really easy to adjust and it also supports mouse navigation.

There are a few flaws with this board, mostly the placement of the headers at the bottom if you plan to run 2 Graphics cards. I have only done an unboxing but hopefully I'll get the rest of my parts this weekend and I'll be able to talk about performance. Here is a link to my unboxing: http://youtu.be/7JuULDKOWc4

AMD's new "Fusion" class lineup of APUs & Motherboard chipsets is pretty new so understanding it and how to apply is also new.

Basically, MSI has taken AMD's latest A88 core chipset and applied it in a very idealist, elegant and functional fashion. When combined with AMD's latest A10-7700K (Kaveri) or higher and powered, clocked & cooled properly with proper DDR3 2400 memory. you've got your self a wonderfully gameable system at a price point, unique in our industry.

NOTE: It is so important to be sure that you are using the latest Firmware for this motherboard!
Note worthy: Be sure to use a good quality SSD from Corsair, Samsung, OCZ, (configured with GPT partition type) and others for your new system build, you will be so glad you did!

The Good:
> mATX form factor, small but powerful, fits nicely into nearly all mATX and ATX chassis
> Very Attractively designed, match it with Red G.Skill or other DDR3 memory
> Very tough Mil Spec solid core capacitors and circuitry
> Heatpipe cooling on main power grid mixed with very cool dragon head aluminum heatsinks
> Sound Blaster audio with built in digital amplifier for enhanced gaming headset experience
> OC Genie works wonderfully WITH latest firmware and proper cooler & chassis cooling
> Nearly all, but the most demanding Games work & look Great even on a 27" HiRez display!
> Seriously excellent Professional Workstation platform with two Asus 29" super wide display - wow!

Not so Good:
> Main Power Heatsinks sit up pretty tall so that some of the larger low profile heatpipe coolers won't or have limited mounting option
> AMD's upcoming FX line of APUs are not out yet - darn it!

What an amazing board! That was my first impression and still is. I love everything about this board except for a couple things that no one ever thinks of (at least not me). If you are running 1 full size graphics card, it is almost impossible to remove it once installed as the PCI-E release in incredibly hard to get to as it will be under the card and next to the APU/CPU. The second and possibly huge issue is that all the USB 2.0 and 3.0 pins, and audio pins on the motherboard that will plug into your case's front jacks and other areas are right next to the second PIC-E slot, so if you were to set up SLI or CROSSFIRE (two graphics cards connected) then the 2nd card will not allow you to use these USB and Audio connections, you may be able to use the USB 2.0 and audio by smashing the second card down on them, but I doubt it and who would really want to do that. Even with a mini size card it will still be over the audio connection and the USB 3.0.
-------------------------------------This problem is only for full size cards and cards that use two expansion slots---------------------------------

A very nice board. Well put together. Nice finish on everything. However mine was DOA. Waiting on replacement currently. Only thing I am not a fan of is the RAM slot mechanism. Most boards have two clips and you can push the RAM in straight, ensuring that you don't mess up any of the pins. This board has an anchor on one end and a clip on the other. This forces you to put in one end and then push the clip end down. I am sure this system works fine, I would rather see clips on both ends.
I will update my rating when I get a working board. I have been lucky enough that over the 8 or so boards I have purchased I have never encountered a new dead board. Hopefully this is an anomaly.
