Internal headers and connections include: com port header, 2x USB 2.0 connectors, 1x front panel audio connector and a TMP connector. This little board seems pretty well outfitted.

The HSF is well designed with a decent amount of surface area and is also pleasing to the eye. In addition, the PCIe slot is good for those wanting a little more horse power out of an add-in GPU. Keep in mind that it is only 4x V2 and big cards may not work due to the proximity of the 24 pin connector and the memory slots.

The standard slots and sockets are great compared to some boards that require a non-standard power supply and use laptop memory.

The only potential issues with the design of the board were the single fan header and the battery location. The other limitation is the 4x PCIe slot, but that is more related to the CPU/Chipset than the actual board design itself.

i bought this for the purpose running a HTPC/file server. it plays blu ray perfectly. i am able to play all flashed video without a problem. the only thing i cannot do is netflix since it uses silverlight.

The system idles around 13 watts with a laptop hard drive, no DVD, and a pico psu.
the system loads around 20 watts playing blu ray.

I just finished building a box with this motherboard / processor combo. The intended purpose of the unit was for Documentation and Browsing. Neither of the intended uses are very labor intensive, yet I walked away extremely impressed with this unit.

The machine went from BIOS to Desktop in about 20 seconds running Windows XP and Vista with only 2 gigs of ram. I didn't have a chance to load Windows 7 on the system, but if anything... I can only see it loading even faster! There was no lag at all when the desktop was reached due to background programs loading, like anti-virus, either. It was just there! I wish I had time to formally benchmark the system. I have read great review about the processor, but they were mainly targeted for Netbook systems, not desktop PCs. Furthermore, I would have loved to see the results in person.

I had two minor issue's building the machine: 1) there is no IDE compatibility slots on the board. Be forewarned, you will need to purchase or use a SATA DVD drive or get an adapter. Secondly, there is an issue with MSDN versions of Windows.... not with standard Windows operating systems disks... this comment is for advance builders only. A third party tool BCD will be required as the standard image for XP MSDN disks lock up for some reason during setup.

Onboard spdif (coax & optical), along with sysfan header did not work. Went back and forth with MSI, as paperwork included with mobo from Tegra Tech indicated the 90 refurbish warranty was through MSI.

After all the back and forth, it was determined to be a faulty mobo, and MSI stated it was covered for 90 days - FROM THE DATE IT LEFT THEIR WAREHOUSE!!! IN OTHER WORDS, THE 90 DAYS INCLUDED TIME SITTING @ TEGRA TECH. IT WAS NO LONGER COVERED AS IT SAT IN TEGRA TECH'S WAREHOUSE FOR LONGER THAN THE COVERED PERIOD!

Luckily Tegra Tech ok'd the return (which is right, considering the posting indicates a 90 day warranty with no disclaimer - the reason I got it here, rather than at lower price elsewhere (used, as it is no longer available new).

Just wanted to let others know that there really is no 90 warranty per se (other than Tegra Tech agreeing to accept for return). MSI simply has a ridiculous warranty policy and does not stand behind their product despite the fact that Tegra Tech is even listed on their website as an authorized vendor. It's not like it was sold through an unauthorized reseller that just buys in bulk from MSI to resell.

This is a great board if you want it for a home file server. If you are looking for an HTPC board, look else where. The graphics just can't keep up. I have tried in Ubuntu 11.04, 11.10, Windows 7 and 8. No dice, on any of them. I have tried every driver I can get my hands on, it just doesn't stack up!

Now it is a DLNA file server to my PS3, which works great! I capture with my Hauppauge 1229 WinTV-HVR-2250, and play the videos through the PS3, or phone.
