I'm 23 and have been using PCs for about 15 years.

In terms of the competition for this laptop, I've had my hands on everything from Sonys to Dells to Toshibas to HPs, everything. This computer puts every one of them to shame in literally every category.

The speed is just amazing. Out of the box it rates a 4.5 out of 6 by Vista (most similarly prices models rate a 3). It can be overclocked from 2.0ghz to 2.4ghz, yet the thing never heats up. I compared it directly with a more expensive Dell. I ran a particular high demand program. The Dell could not run it. This computer ran 4 instances of it. That means this thing is at least 4 times as capable as a more expensive, bigger name computer. That's what happens when you put an AMD processor on an MSI motherboard against an Intel on some generic Chinese motherboard, the Intel will always fail in comparison.

The touch pad actually works, it's fast, and it doesn't misinterpret anything. Out of the dozens of touch pads I've used since their invention, this is the only one I can't complain about.

It's the lightest 15.4" laptop I've come across, yet feels so solid that I know it's more durable than any of the alternatives. Even has some aluminum construction which isn't just aesthetic, but actually aids in cooling. Probably one of the reasons this comp never overheats.

It doesn't come loaded with a bunch of useless programs that try and steal your money (AOL etc.). It comes with what you need, Vista, and drivers that work.

I have literally found no downside to this computer except that it isn't free and that it took me 15 years to find a computer I have no complaints about.

I fell in love with the specs, then i fell in love with the look. It arrived promptly and i fell in love with the feel and the performance! THEN... I tried to use the firewire port!
It was dead! Drivers installed and updated, device manager says it's working, but still nothing! Ok,so I got a faulty one?
Nope!!!
Amazon sent me a replacement (great service! i got it the next day!) BUT the replacement had the identical problem. I figure it must be MSI's fault.

It's a nice laptop and a great deal but I give it only 3 stars because that's a bad mistake by the manufacturer and the firewire port was very important for my work.

But i was already in love... so I ended up keeping the replacement laptop and getting and express card firewire port.

I researched these MSI's before purchasing. I didn't even know where to buy them until I looked up the MSI website and looked at their products and then went to find the where to buy links. I have always used Dell for our desk top and laptops. We have had 3 laptops and several desk tops throughout the years (all Dell). I was looking for a new Dell laptop and stumbled upon these by total accident. I am so glad I did. A laptop like this thru Dell would have cost at LEAST $1200 or more. Easily. I got this one for $699!!! It beats any Dell I have had previously and would def recommend this, and have already, to everyone! If you are looking for a kick butt laptop this is IT!

I had all but given up in my quest to find a gaming laptop that could run the latest MMOs (like Warhammer Online) for a price that I could afford until I saw this little powerhouse. This laptop is extremely high performance, easy to use with an integrated panel for wireless networking, Blue Tooth etc and even a button to overclock (which this computer was designed to do). However, I have never had to run with overclocking turned on as this PC does it all with ease, even on medium and high performance game settings. After looking at all these high-end (expensive) laptops that had the high price, but couldn't deliver the performance I was skeptical that this notebook could do all it promised with such a small price tag. Needless to say I was amazed as it lived up to every expectation I had and usually exceeded them. Buy this laptop...it is the one!

Quick Summery:
1280x800 screen is good enough, and is a good fit for the 9600GT graphics card. 4GB of memory help make vista run about as smooth as vista can. 64Bit Vista would have been appreciated.

Not the best travel or business laptop as battery life is not the best, and the notebook can get pretty hot. Eco feature is nice, and allows you to tweak your battery vs. performance settings.

Overall, for $800.00, its a pretty great value. I have been playing Bioshock, and Team Fortress 2, and have been playing both at high settings without using turbo mode. So far no problems, so I have no idea about customer service, which was my main concern going in, so hopefully everything works out from here.

Just got this laptop a month ago and it still keeps amazing me!
I had no idea when I ordered it how powerful this budget gaming rig is!

It runs COD4 @ max settings ave. 55fps lowest 35fps,
it even manages assassins creed max settings ave 30 lowest 23fps! (lowest 32 w/o AA)

The turbo button is a really nifty addition - it overclocks the CPU by 600mhz (300 for each processor) (an improvement of about 15%) and adds quite surprisingly to any demanding game.

Didn't notice any flaws or cons , except maybe the ugly red color trim on the laptop - but that's really not important (and that's just my taste anyway).

Bottom line - AMAZING laptop for this budget. No more words!

The laptop is fast, however it has 4 GB of ram which Vista 32 can only use 3, the keyboard is not that solid also. But for the price is the best option out there, no question about.

If you are someone looking to get a slick computer capable of running some of today's most sophisticated games on PC and not blow the bank, look no further. When doing research on laptops, I was looking at similar products costing $1,200 to $2,000. Frustrated, I noted several websites recommended this laptop. I purchased this computer just a few weeks ago and have had wonderful success playing games such as Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II, Sins of a Solar Empire, and Empire Total War. The unit does, of course, get pretty warm while playing these games, but I still feel comfortable resting it on my lap while playing. On top of being great for games, the onboard wireless card is great. I stream movies and sporting events as if I was connected directly to a LAN line. Keep in mind I do have a pretty good wireless router.

There are only two issues I can really see with this laptop, and I can get passed them, but maybe they will turn you away. For one, the sound is not wonderful. After all, it is only a laptop. I doubt too many laptops will have good sound. This is easily fixed with a cheap pair of speakers. The second, the battery life is short, very short. I can work on its most economical settings for only about 1 and ½ hours. I can easily get by this because I am always near an outlet when using the laptop. For those who need to work for hours at a time at your local coffee shop, this may not be for you.

As a word of warning, the computer I received had the drive pre-partitioned, which gets annoying since they made the C: Drive pretty small and so many programs force themselves to be installed under C:. The great news is Windows Vista allows you to manage your drive partitions without having to by additional software (a huge advantage over XP). If you go into Computer Management, under Storage - Disk Management, you can manage your partitions (I strongly suggest looking up help files and tech boards online before blindly deleting and moving stuff around - you can erase everything on your computer).

I love everything about the laptop but for the poor quality speakers. If you anticipate watching DVDs on this laptop or listening to music, this laptop is not for you. If you anticipate using the webcam for video recording this laptop is also not for you as there is not provision for white balance adjustment and low light compensation is poorly executed. If you are looking for a laptop with long battery life, this laptop is not for you. If you are looking for a laptop with enough online technical support from manufacturers, this laptop is not for you.

If you are looking for a laptop with great keypads and a keyoard lay out similar to that you get with the regular desktop, then this laptop is for you. If you are looking for a laptop that runs pretty fast and is setup for maximum protection of your data, this laptop is for you.

Besides the horrible audio and webcam quality...I think this is fairly priced for all the features that come boxed into it.
