Overall this motherboard works well, it comes with two SATA 3 cables, which is nice. but the internal USB 3.0 port is badly placed. it is too close to the main power port, so any relatively thick cables will not fit into it, the side of the cable hits the power port. It basically left the front panel USB 3.0 ports on my case useless. I guess I could buy a USB 2.0 to 3.0 adapter, but I bought this board because it had USB 3.0.

this board has a great bios interface and functionality. I also had no trouble at all with any drivers. the excellent placement and arrangement of SATA ports made cable management an easier task. no cons so far. I'm happy with this board.

This motherboard is easy to work with and has everything you need if you're not planning to overclock or do anything too extreme. The layout is nice, and I've had no problems with it after about 6 months.

The quality of some of the components is not quite as good as ASUS or Gigabyte. However this is definitely the best Haswell motherboard you can get for the price. The connector cutout panel and LGA retainer are not top quality. There is no power status LED. The sockets for daughter cards are not top quality.

Started up cleanly with no glitches once everything was installed.

Organization of the menu system requires some investigation to figure out where everything is, but it is fairly complete once you take the time to search through all its layers of navigation. Although the Intel B85 and H87 controller chips do not support over-clocking (in the sense of higher clock frequencies) you can still use the overclocking software to optimize the RAM clock and latency settings within the ranges supported by the hardware. However to do this you have to enable "overclocking" in the menu system.

Previous commenters are correct about the unfortunate placement of the front panel USB 3.0 header. Although they seem to have moved it a bit farther from the 24-pin ATX power header in the latest rev, it is still just a bit too close. The biggest problem is that the power header shroud has a ridge (for stiffening?) right next to the USB header. I had to shave off about 1/2 mm off one side of the rubber moulding around the dual USB connector to allow it to seat properly. After you plug-in your USB connector, unplug it and look for signs of rubbing on the side nest to the power header. Keep shaving of a bit more of the USB connector moulding until you see no more signs of rubbing. Otherwise the USB connector will want to slowly work its way out of the header because of uneven pressure on one side.

I purchased this motherboard for a budget gaming rig, and am very satisfied with the performance. Since I mostly play indie games, installing a Radeon 7750 and a Pentium G3220 into this motherboard were overkill for most of what I wanted to do. Civ 5 sure looks good, and Skyrim autodetects to Ultra High settings, but I couldn't say how it handles the latest installment of your favorite FPS franchise.

The BIOS is exceptional, much easier to use than I expected. Installed into the case easily and has worked like a charm from the word 'go'. I am not overclocking anything, if that is where you want to go I would say a different motherboard is probably better for you. As I recall, it really only lets you overclock your memory. Also it apparently supports Crossfire, but that's beyond my expertise to comment on.

Also, I'm not sure why this is listed as a DDR3 1333 motherboard, as according to the manufacturer states it supports DDR3 1600 memory. (My G3220 only supports up to 1333, so that's what I'm using at the moment, but part of why I picked this motherboard was in case I decide to upgrade the CPU down the road.)

If one doesn't plan to overclock, or doesn't have a unlocked CPU, this is a great board. Though other reviews tell of the USB 3.0 header being placed too close to the 24 pin connector, for the 3 cases I tried this in, the header fit.

This board was actually my 2nd choice, as Amazon ran out of stock of my first pick (a different brand). I've heard mixed reviews on all board brands, so I figured I'd give this one a shot. I was fine with the B85 chipset as I have no intention of overclocking or anything else drastic. Just plug and play. This board is working great so far, even with a BIOS update applied. Both with Windows 8 (UEFI) and Ubuntu 14.04 (Legacy) everything is working just great. Once in awhile I've had one of the USB3 ports disconnect, but I haven't verified if it's the port or the device (ext hard drive). I don't use it often enough to honestly worry about it; the other USB ports (keyboard, mouse, and printer) haven't had any problems.

It's simply not true. At least in my case. The USB connector that came with my case was a bit bulky so after reading a one of the reviews about how it wasn't possible to plug it in the front header at all I was a little worried. But it does plug in comfortably!

Anyways, this is a really good value motherboard. Slightly smaller width than a regular ATX (but will fit any ATX case.) It has all the bells and whistles that you would expect from a $100 motherboard and has a nice, clean feel to it. The BIOS is also a really elegant click-based one with options for overclocking and boot options. Recommended if you're on a limited budget.
