This board looks amazing. I recently got a HAF X case to put it in, and it just works well with the black and red combo. It has a ton of fan ports compared to my LGA 775 setup, a good amount of SATA III connectors, USB 3.0 connectors, and the test leads is a nifty idea. As soon as I pulled it out of the box, it just oozed with quality finish and parts. I literally stared at it for hours.
The Killer NIC is an ok feature. I am not sure how much it improves network travel, as it seemed to stay the same during my use. Some applications, such as iRacing, you have to tell the NIC to back it down to normal, otherwise iRacing will think your connection keeps dropping in and out every 5 seconds. EDIT: After doing a few tests, I did notice that the NIC will help applications, such as Ventrilo, maintain proper bandwidth while there are downloads running. My last board used an Intel NIC, and any download would shoot the ping up to 300+. With the Killer NIC, I had 3 downloads at once running, and it helped maintain Ventrilo around 20ms.
The Creative application is pretty cool. It has Movie, Music, and Game settings so that you can set the surround, bass, crystallization, and other features depending on the mode.
The MSI Command Center and Live Update utilities make it very easy to keep track of motherboard updates. It will even update the BIOS in Windows. You can even pick and choose what you want to update, and have it download/install with one click.
I read many reviews for boards in this price range, it was between this, ASUS, and Gigabyte. All the reviews kept having me come back to this MSI board, and I am glad that I did.

This board is replacing an EVGA LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard of six years.
In the week that I have owned it the board has proven worth every penny.
As an amateur-overclocker, I wanted to follow the direction of someone who knew what they were doing. This board basically said, "Look. You know about hardware, but you don't understand how to model it in the bios very well."
I tried to convince him that voltage tampering and BSODs are no fun for me, but he quickly calmed me. "You sit back and relax. I see that you tried to manually overclock that RAM from 1600 to it's MOS of 1866, but you totally misunderstood what to do with the timings." He kicked open the side of the computer. "See this button here? It will let me test the waters for you. I'll do all the work. Get your CPU to a smooth 4.0, the RAM to 1866 and even boost that fancy GPU you've got there!"
The board went on to explain that it has some very user-friendly BIOS controls and even OC software once I got comfortable with messing with things on my own.
Needless to say. I was convinced. I saved me 20$ over the Maximus VI Hero and has saved me time being able to go right into overclocked-gaming-dreamland!
Like my other prerequisites for hardware for a five star: Roll-on for five years and you get a fifth star!

This mother board did give me some issues right out of the box but after a little time it is running extremely stable. The reason for the one star being taken off is because of software and driver issues.
This motherboard comes packed with features that make it worth looking at it. The killer nic has not given me any problems like many have complained about. The software included with this board makes it very easy to overclock and manage your system. It looks great with plenty of ports on connectors for expansion. It also comes with 4 sata cables in the box something that several companies are not including anymore.
my issues I had with the motherboard: The sound card on this motherboard took the longest time to get configured because the drivers that are included on the disk with the motherboard for me did not work at all. After installing the audio drivers from the disk windows audio service would constantly crash and the creative cinema software did not work at all. After uninstalling both the software and driver and then downloading the newest version from the MSI site then the driver and software started working properly.
The next thing is the UEFI it seems very simple to use but I find it looks different each time I enter it. This might just be my lack of experience with it acts oddly in my opinion.

Great mother board. Only thing the could have improved on was the size of the heat sinks located above the CPU. They are shaped like dragons which is cool. BUT since they are so big, at least in my case it is preventing me from adding a fan to the top of my case. The one touch over clock is awesome especially if you are not experienced with over clocking CPUs. The dual bios is cool incase one crashes you wont have to worry to much.

I ordered this motherboard and after setting it up the first and second ram slots are dead. I have tried resetting the CMOS and nothing. Thanks MSI. Will update when I contact their support and HOPEFULLY receive a new one
