First off, I must state that I was building a budget gaming PC for a friend and I was looking for a VERY good card at <$110. After a little bit of forum browsing, I didn't even see any mentions of anything below an x50 series for Nvidia or an xx6x series for AMD. I searched Amazon for some cards under $100 and finally came across this baby. The card is very small and draws all its power from the PCIe slot, which was a big plus for me as I don't want to deal with any extra plugs. Here are the pros and cons:
PROS
-Small
-Amazing performance for the cost
-Power-efficient
-Amazing performance for any cost
-~760MB of usable 128-bit bus memory gets good performance at decent resolutions
CONS:
-DDR3 memory is slightly out-of-date
-Even 1GB of memory is overkill, the most this GPU can process is ~760MB; The 2GB version is a gimmick

Another thing, don't be fooled by the large amount of pipelines, the 384 pipelines of this architecture are equivalent to 192 of the Fermi architecture (Older 4xx series)

I picked this up to replace my aged and failing 9800 GTX, which is a power hog but has been a fantastic card for several years and the MSI GT 640 is just as beastly. It won't play all the new games with everything cranked to ultra but it handles them very well on high settings and with AA/AS turned on, which is nice for a ~$100 video card with no direct power connector.

Tested it on my 47 inch HDTV @ 1920x1080 & 17 inch LCD @ 1280 x 1024
Borderlands 2
Tomb Raider
Planetside 2
Diablo 3
Skyrim
WoW (it will play this with everything maxed and still get 40 FPS)

I'm impressed and very happy with my choice.

If you are looking for an entry level DX11 card to give your system that kick it needs to play the newest games, think this is the best bang for your buck.

I have this pre-installed in my Dell XPS system bought this year, it plays Starcraft 2 on the highest graphic settings perfectly. I also use a lot of photoshop, web design, and watch a lot of movies. There has not been an issue at all. Its not the top of the line, but i would like to see what those "top of the line" graphics cards are doing that this "lower model" is not.

very powerful GPU for moderate gaming and it will run most of the newer games like Batman Arkham City and Bioshock Infinite, pretty much any game that is out right now. The condition of the GPU was great when I recieved it, nothing negative to say at all

This card is fabricated with a 28 nm process making it extrememly efficient in GFLOPs/Watt.

4 GT 640 equal 1 GTX 670
5 GT 640 equal 1 GTX 680

when comparing GFLOPs. They also cost the same if purchased separately. But you save both in space and energy efficiency if you buy one of the higher end cards. I've been playing around with the afterburner software and the feature I like the most is taking live videos of your monitor output with no extra cables, but I've found that it does not always respond and restarts are required to make it work. Maybe its my setup, but if you want to capture your video game outputs you should look anywhere else and not rely in this free software.

Hardware-wise the card performs as it should... great for CUDA computing!

Used this to replace an older MSI video card. This was plug and play and works just fine for my purposes. I'm not a hardcore gamer and this meets my needs.

I needed a better video card to activate the mercury playback engine in Adobe Premiere. This worked. When adding effects it now renders much more quickly. There are more powerful cards out there but for me this works as I didn't have to replace any power or fan.
