I'm building a rig for my brother because his older card died (PNY GTX 460) and he would always complain about the card running hot and having a difficult time playing games. So I decided to go with the MSI HD7950 OC because it runs cool and overclocks like a champ. My brother is now happy because he can max any game he wants now. I was able to push the HD7950 to 1180mhz/1550mhz with 1.25 volts. The temps always stay below 75c with my overclocking and it idles at around 28c. Also, this card has 3GB VRAM which is more than enough for high resolution gaming at 1080p. I always control the fan of the card with MSI Afterburner because it gives you more control over the automatic fan settings.

His previous card was the PNY GTX460 which was a great card when it was released but it couldn't handle all the modern games and started showing its age in newer games that my brother wants to play such as BF3, Crysis 3, Metro LL, Bioshock Infinite and Batman Arkham City. The new MSI HD7950 is not only faster but cooler and quieter than the GTX 460. I remember his GTX460 running so hot that it would shut down his computer in the middle of the game and I couldn't handle all the heat that it would put out so I made the right choice of upgrading his computer to the MSI HD7950. His other components would overheat because of the GTX 460.

The MSI HD7950 runs super cool in his system even though I have not done any cable management whatsoever. I plan on getting another one to run in crossfire because I want to future-proof my brother's computer. At idle, the temperature hovers around 28c so that's pretty cool. While gaming, this card stays cool and quiet at 75C and I have it overclocked too. I have the fan set manually at 65% in CCC so it can keep the card cool while gaming.

Been using this GPU since Nov of 2013. I am very pleased of my purchased. Stock setting 800mhz core and 1250 memory, i easily overclock this card to 1125mhz core and 1500mhz memory without even have to adjust my voltage. The heat ran no hotter then 80-87c... I'm using this GPU with a FX8350 cpu & Asrock3 990FX motherboard all runs nicely... BF4 runs easily over 70-120fps depending on the maps, it has it dips but that's because the game has it development issues. Other games I purchased & ran on max setting are NFS Rivals, Black Flag and Thief all clock well to its maximum limits. Tomb Raider runs easily 70fps plus... I got this card for $225 so it was a steal at the time. I am well pleased with the quality and performance.

This has been my first experience with an AMD card and I have been nothing but impressed. It runs cool so long as your case has good ventilation and has a lot of overclocking potential. I haven't experienced the noise that others have complained about. It's not quiet by any means but not any louder than other cards I've had in the past.

Performance is good but it runs very loud and very hot. The 10.5 Inch length might persuade some to use this in an HTPC case. Don't you will regret it. For a regular tower, I'm sure it's fine but for HTPC, it sounds like a hairdryer.

I bought this card on sale for a little under 200. It was a great deal, and can play anything ive thrown at it maxed out. (BF4 on ultra with 45fps)

But... This card runs very hot. idk if its just the one i got or if its a common issue but it will get up to about 73 Celsius when playing graphics heavy games. Its not like im playing for long periods either, it will ramp up in temperature rather quickly. It makes me scared to overclock it without modifying the fan. If i had to do it again i would get the twin frost model with the double fans. However this one gets the job done.

This was a very good graphics card. Every game I played was able to play maxed settings, although I haven't tested it with next gen games like battlefield 4 and above. The reason is this card died about 4 months into use. One day it was working fine, the next it would not display output at all, just out of the blue. Now I gotta try to get a replacement from msi for another one, since it is way past the return date.

Good thing msi video cards are warranted for 3 years, so I should have no problem getting a new one. Will update this review regarding msi warranty service once I get a new card.
