This is really a great laptop/netbook. I've tested the battery and when I'm just doing websurfing, the battery is over 10 hours when using the battery saving option under Win 7 power settings. The touchpad is notoriously bad in msi laptops. The touchpad itself feels nice to the touch and I like the buttons just fine. It's also very accurate while using it as a mouse, it's just the scrolling that sucks. The touchpad company is sentelic and the two finger scrolling does one screen at a time. It's not the traditional motion you use for scrolling. It's more like flick your two fingers up or down, if you hold it like normal it just rapidly goes through the screen one screen at a time. It didn't come with a lot of bloatware. The webcam is pretty clear. It has the best palm rest I've had so far. There are no finger prints on it. The cover is really nice, it's glossy but it's hard to see the fingerprints. It's a really slick looking computer. It's thin and with the 8 cell battery that comes with it it tops in at 3lbs 12ounces. It's a great weight and size ratio. I have a 15" laptop and it weighs twice as much for only 2" of screen. The keyboard size was confusing. Most netbooks I've owned take the keyboard as close to the edge as they can. MSI wasted at least an inch and a half of space. They could have made buttons bigger but I haven't noticed anything while typing.

The windows experience index follows
Processor 3.8
Memory 4.9
Graphics 4.2
Gaming graphics 5.7
Primary hard disk 5.9

I think the performance is great on it. I mean I don't play games but the fact that I could is really nice. HD videos play with ease and the speakers, I think, are really great for a computer of the size.

I have owned this laptop for about 2 weeks now, and it has crashed 2 times... in a really odd way. The computer just shuts off (without any warning). All lights go out, EXCEPT the power button light at the top of the keyboard... that light stays on. When I click on it to turn the laptop back on, nothing happens. The only way to reboot it is to take out the battery. Has anyone else encountered this yet? Outside of that, the laptop is not bad.

relatively light
relatively powerful
nice keyboard

a bit louder than I would have thought it to be
heavier than it appears (8-cell batt)
fans and vents are in front, which makes the whole thing vibrate (not terribly bad, but still..), also blows heat at your wrists as you type (and it does heat up to the left of the mouse pad).

I have owned my MSI X370 for about 2 months now and use it about 2-3 hours per day. My e-mail, primary use is surfing web, watching YouTube, and using Bridge and Photoshop. The sound is superb compared to the Toshiba Portage and my previous Sony net book. The resolution is great. The keyboard is very comfortable with ample room for resting my wrists. The battery life is awesome. My 8 cell battery currently has a 94% charge and has 8 hours and 2 minutes remaining.
Cons include a jumping cursor when typing. This is quite annoying. My other gripe is difficulty in highlighting. It takes several tries before the only the text I want is highlighted.
The computer does not have an optical drive. However, this helps to keep the weight and narrow dimensions of the computer. I bought and external optical drive which I carry with me but have yet to use.
Knowing all I do, I would definitely buy the MSI X370 again!

To my great relief, I found out that the jumping cursor and and difficulty in highlighting is my error. No more problems now. I am changing my review to 5 stars.

Light, fast and good battery life. I bought this laptop for my wife, it is excellent despite being a off brand (MSI is known for motherboards). It looks good and the specs are excellent. She gets 5+ hours off one charge. I'm really impressed with the Fusion E350 APU, great performance for low power and cost. You can get cheaper E350 based laptops, but they are larger and have less RAM and HD.

The first thing you notice when it's out of the box is how stylish it looks.

The X370 is made from black plastic with chrome trim. The chrome adds a nice aesthetic touch to the laptop, but as it also surrounds the ports, it provides that little bit of extra protection from potential damage. The lid is glossy black with a honeycomb pattern and when you lift the lid, the screen is an LED glossy screen and the main keyboard area is grey textured plastic. The casing itself is extremely durable, with no evident give on the casing when pressure was applied showing excellent build quality. Its compact and lightweight design doesn't make it feel like a burden to carry around.

When the X370 was booted up, I was impressed by how quiet it was. Even after I put it through its paces, by opening several applications, browsing the internet and doing office-style work, it remained almost silent. Unless you put your ear right down to the laptop itself you would never hear any of the fans or the hard drive working.

The screen is 13.4" corner to corner and provides a maximum resolution of 1366x768 in HD. This is a nice compromise as it's larger than a netbook but smaller than the standard laptop size of 14-15.6" and including the glossy screen, you get a good overall picture. The only issue I had was that the screen was a bit dull and I had to mess around with the brightness settings and the angle of the screen to get the best picture. Regardless of this, the screen size and resolution is excellent and everyone will find there own preference with this.

The keyboard is laid out with individual keys of a decent size. Each key requires the lightest touch to register on-screen so touch-typers will enjoy using this laptop.
