Product Description

Whether you're cooking for a group in a high-mountain base camp or rustling up some grub for a horde of hungry backpackers, the MSR Alpine 4 Stainless Steel Pot Cookset gives you what you need to cook large meals for big groups. Three different pots all have their own lid that also doubles as a plate when some unexpected guests show up. The lightweight pot gripper makes quick work of transferring pots to and from the stove.

Easy to clean and stack together taking up little space.

They heat up evenly and clean up nice and with an induction system you get instant heat with the Stainless Steel cookware.
Cruiznbye
These seem very well made, and the thickness is a good compromise between weight and strength.

I was looking for a cook set I could use to feed my family of three or adding a guests on the trail. MSR had what I needed.

Yes, these are heavier pots than many and certainly heavier than any I own, but I don't mind a bit. I'll gladly pack these knowing they will be more than adequate for my/our needs.

Edit: One other thing. Unless my basic math skills are wrong, there's only three pots in this "4 Pot Set"

I'd certainly recommend these pots to anybody.

Finally stainless steel pot sets that are strong and distribute heat quickly and evenly over a micro stove or open fire.

Easy clean up, light weight, and nestles in with the MSR Fry Pan.

I have been looking for some good quality lightweight pans for the camper trailer for a long time. These fit the bill perfectly. They are light but cook brilliantly. Easy to clean and stack together taking up little space. The frypan also fits easily into the largest saucepan. They are just perfect.

Excellent purchase and something that will last. They clean up well but try and remember to pack a scoth brite pad. I've had to clean these with fine sand when available but they last. They pack and fit very well. An extra handle would have been nice.

I purchased two of these sets to use with a Boy Scout Troop. I have had several MSR pots for more than twenty years, but when I purchased them in the early nineties, I thought that they looked "thin". They stood the test of time and look just as good now as they did then. The new sets appear to be very well made, and I am looking forward to years of use with them as well.

Recently got this set and took them up backpacking, and they're everything I'd hoped for if not more. I'm not a ultralight type of backpacker, and given that, I think I made the perfect choice. I wouldn't describe these as heavy by any means, but probably not the set for those looking to cut weight.

I chose this for two reasons: durability and flexibility. These seem very well made, and the thickness is a good compromise between weight and strength. They're made in Thailand, by the way (not China as indicated by Amazon). It's a great set to have even if you don't always need all three. You can mix and match based on the size of the group and your needs, both of which can vary a lot in my experience (it's ideal for up to six, I'd say). Also note that the alpine fry pan nests well between the two bigger pans.

I've only got a couple quibbles with these. First, the lid for the middle pan fits a little tight, which would be the only hit I can see on the quality of the pans themselves. The grab handle does seem to flex a little as others have noted, but as long as you're not death-gripping it I don't see it being a liability. I was able to handle a nearly-full pan of hot water with no issue. The one thing I'd change is that it'd be nice to be able to attach a handle with the lid on (something along the lines of the handle on the Alpine fry pan). As it is, you can't put one of the pans in the fire with the lid on without gloves.

Overall, this is a great set for the price, and depending on your needs I doubt you'll find much better at any price. I'm betting these will see plenty of use and give me many years of service.

Well made, good assortment of sizes. I also bought the MSR tea kettle, in hopes it would fit in with the set, but the smallest pot, and the kettle are the same size, so the kettle gets carried separately. No biggie

We use this set in our teardrop trailer kitchen along with a one burner Induction stove top (NuWave PIC2). The Stainless Steel works extremely well on an induction cooktop where aluminum or titanium will not. They are nice quality and stack up into a nice small package. You can add the MSR SS plates inside the largest pot if you don't want to use the lids as plates, or use them as extras. They heat up evenly and clean up nice and with an induction system you get instant heat with the Stainless Steel cookware.
