I bought this tent because of its limited weight while still offering more space then most other tents of similar weights. It is suitable for 2 persons with limited space for backpacks (at the end/beginning of the tent). Setting up the tent is reasonably simple. The tent is well ventilated and it persisted in a heavy storm + rain, although the outer tent is not covering the inner tent fully from the bottom, so in case of snow probably not the best choice.

I'm using my Nook primarily as a one-person tent, so it's rather tight interior space is not an issue. It's simple and straightforward to pitch, although staking the rear of the tent requires some finesse to avoid wrinkles on the floor from the single pole pulling back. Perhaps the trekking-pole option (fastener, but not pole, included) would help with this. The light weight design doesn't sacrifice strength. Tent, fly and poles are beautifully made, with careful attention to details, multiple guy points and reinforced stress points. Crucially, the fly attaches to the tent poles - not the case on a similar Marmot tent I'd been looking at. On a recent trip to Crater Lakes in Colorado, it rained and all night and the wind was severe, pummeling the tent from all directions. But had I brought plenty of guy-out cord (not included) and extra stakes. I ran two lines from each guy-out loop in different directions and anchored it to a stake or nearby tree, and that tent didn't budge or flap. Nor did a drop of rain get inside. I did use a Nook footprint underneath (sold separately), which put an extra layer between me and the damp ground. I also had the MSR Gear Shed with me, (even though I didn't bring the dog for which it was intended). That proved fantastic! It mates weather-tight with the Nook, is equally tough and guy-out-able, has room for all my gear and gives me a sheltered space to cook from (keeping the stove just outside the door) or take refuge in a downpour without having to remove boots or rain gear. One caveat - I used my own stakes that curve into a loop on top. They are much easier to press into and pull out of the dirt. The narrow-headed MSR's hurt the palm, unless you pound 'em in with a rock or mallet.

This is a very durable and well made backcountry tent for its weight. It is small as most backcountry tents are. I've camped in snow, rain, and high winds (35+ mph) with no problems in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming . It does need to be guyed out properly though. Yes, I too wish it came more stakes and guy line. One should practice setting it up before taking it on a trip. It is bomber once you know how to guy it out. I've yet to have any issues with the fly contacting the tent wall excepting in some very high winds. I wish the was a guy out point where the vent spacer rod thingy is on the fly. The fly doesn't come all the to the ground but the bathtub floor extends above the lower edge of the fly so this hasn't been an issue relative to the conditions I've encounter so far. I've no problems with condensation so far. The trick is in the guying out of the tent. It packs up small. Light but not the lightest tent out there. This is not an ultralight tent but it is light considering how durable it is. The extra weight should translate into great durability. It is more weather resistant and aerodynamic than many other tents and should last longer under bad conditions that most other ultralight and lightweight tent. So far I have been very pleased with this tent and think it should hold up to years of use with proper care, maintenance, and storage.
