5.0 out of 5 stars Pleased
I have used this product now as a self supported bicycle rider for two years. I am pleased with the product. It's not real soft and fluffy like a thick towel but does a great job in absorbing water after a shower or stream bath and dries fast. It's as practical as can be for what I got it for! It also is very compact and light in the pack. The one piece of advice I...

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay Packtowl
The towel works well, it is small about the size of a wash cloth. The size makes it very handy for hiking. It is very absorbent, but takes a while to dry. When both fully wet, my wife's Large REI MultiTowel dried in a 4th of the time.

The additional weight and bulk in nothing and having the additional towel surface is worth it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great towel, dries quick, May 18, 2010
This review is from: MSR Packtowl UltraLite (Sports)
This towel is awesome. I took it backpacking for 6 months and it worked like a charm. It dried quick and took up little space. Even after backpacking I still keep it around for the gym. I can use it as a workout towel or for the shower after. I don't mind leaving it in my gym bag because it just doesn't take up any space.

I would have given it a 5, but I did notice that when backpacking that it tended to pickup the smells of my dirty clothes rather easily. It aired out fairly well, but it probably has something to do with the material its made of. A lot of my friends and family ended up buying one after seeing mine.

I picked this towel up in the Green XL size and it definitely held up for my thru-hiking trip. The towel is not only very absorbent but also incredibly lightweight. Others in my hiking party had bulkier "light" towels that shed all the time, this MSR towel stayed intact and held up very well. My only complaint about the towel was the size, it was way too big for a backpacking trip. In the future I would probably get the Medium or Large size. Otherwise a great towel!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Travel Towel and a Great Gift, January 8, 2010

This towel works great, absorbs 4x's its weight in water. I bought it as a gift for 3 different people and they all love it.

I got the smaller version for myself, because this bigger towel can dry off 3 different people.

I bought 2 of these, helped us a lot in our honeymoon (we went to Europe, backpacking - by the way, visit Scotland!!!). Today I'm here to buy another one for my father-in-law, he travels a lot. The towl is really very absorvent and dries very quickly, yet it's very light and space-saver!

If you need a compact, super-absorbant towel for any reason at all, you need one of these towels. It comes in a great pouch that it can fit into relatively easily and certainly won't take up much space (you could probably fit it in your back pocket even). It also is incredibly absorbent so it would be perfect if you go camping or need a quick solution to dry off if you catch yourself in a sudden rain. Couldn't be happier with this towel.

I love this towel for not only as a small cloth, but as a camping towel. It is smaller than you think it is when you buy it. Please, do yourself a favor, and if you want a pack towel, get this one.

I bought one of these towels for my husband to try on his boat. He loves it! He says it is more absorbent than a regular towel, dries in 15 minutes, and, of course, takes up much less space to store. I'm planning on buying a couple more of these for him.
