Although it took 15 years for my MSR Whisperlite to malfunction, it took 5 minutes and this kit to fix it. Don't leave home with out it.

I have been using MSR Whisperlite stoves for years. I finally had one break -- no pressure from getting to the burner. This kit fixed that problem in only minutes. The photo is deceiving. This kit is very small, very light, and a "must have" on extended camping trips.

This kit is very complete, which is why it is expensive as compared to buying a completely new stove. My Whisper Lite International is at least 20 years old. The plastic ears that hold the old fuel pump onto the pump body broke off from age. Parts are no longer available for that pump design, plus, you cannot purchase individual parts. No choice but to buy a complete new pump unit. In the interest of keeping the stove going for another 20 years, this kit was purchased that provides ample parts to repair the stove itself or the new fuel pump while repair parts are available. Now, a breakdown while on a trip will be a non-event and the stove should out last me! The annual overhaul kit is cheaper, but did not have all the parts I needed as I could not find any place to buy individual parts.

I've used my stove on and off for years. I probably bought it 15 - 20 years ago. Got this to replace all of the old O-rings and such. Made my stove like new. Brought the kit with me on my recent trip to the Tetons, just in case. Didn't need it but it sure brought piece of mind. It was small enough to fit in the stove bag with my stove.
