I really enjoyed playing this bass for about 2 weeks. The setup was good out of the box, even though there was a little buzzing. Yet after 2 weeks of playing I noticed a dead spot on the fretboard. I took it to a music store, and the tech was able to spot it right away. The fretboard was not level, it had a bad dip in it around the second fret, near the bottom. That is why the g string would not play properly in that position.(Or when the bass was setup correct, not at all!) Great bass, yet the model I had was flawed. Thankfully Amazon has a good return policy. If you buy this, just make sure the fretboard is level.

The first thing I noticed about this (besides the striking wood work) is how shockingly light this is. Very resonant, the body is surprising comfortable and light. The neck is the heaviest thing on this bass, luckily it is extremely well balanced so you wont experience any "gibson head drop". This stays in place!

The pickups/electronics are great and provide a nice wide range of tone punch and pop, to warm and jazzy... The active three band eq seems to be set to the right sweeps for this instrument.

The neck is also excellent. It's wide and thin. This makes for an easy transition to 5 string from 4 as well as some great action and playability. I've been really enjoying playing this bass and surprised at the value.
