For years I stored my ice fishing rods in the same buckets that went onto the ice with me. With all of my fly and spinning rods cased/tubed, I figured it was time for the ice rods to be properly stored during the offseason. This case fills the need perfectly. It's your typical light-duty, molded plastic case, like one would find on tackle boxes. The two halves match up perfectly and the latches snap tightly and securely. It comes with 4 removable foam inserts that can be inserted/adjusted to fit the length of your rods. Bear in mind the inserts are only made of foam and you will get some movement of your rods if reels are attached. Not an issue for me, since I'm only using it for storage. With reels attached, I can safely store/transport 6 rods. Without reels I can get 10 rods in this case! If you were to use it on the ice, I doubt that you would lose it short of a blizzard due to it's bright, red color! It also comes with two plastic utility boxes for jigs, tackle and the such. Overall, worth the asking price!

The description of this case stated it will hold eight rods. This is true IF you do not have reels attached to the rods. I have a difficult time getting the case closed with just four rods with reels attached.

I have 4 rods with reels and 2 schooley rods. The only real problem is the foam doesn't stay in place like it should. When you open the box the rods on top fall out. I have built PVC sleeves for all my rods now and place them in the case without the foam. I have it holding 5 rods with reels and two schooley rods no problem.

Got this but not for fishing. Great box to keep all my extra chainsaw bars in. Upto 34" bar with plenty of room for chains.

Just got this after the ice went out. Was able to store 10 rods in here with reels on only 2 of them. Appears to be strong enough and certainly light enough. I will use it with my snowmobile and portable ice house. Certainly will work good in a vehicle while I'm on the road and for summer storage. Please with it so far and especially for the price. Decent value for the money.

Works well for protecting rod and reels with a plastic case. Could be a bit bigger to handle (3) rod/reel combo's. I have three rod /reels on one half and three rods only on the other. Tight but works.
I suggest one take the time to best fit their rod and reels with the foam that's included for the best fit and use spay adhesive to lock foam in place. I added foam where the reels lay for added protection. Not the most durable construction but far better than gear bags which don't really protect against hard knocks. Good value for the money in this day and age. I would pay more for slightly bigger and more durable model. Not one out there under $50.

I have too many ice fishing rods, I fully admit that (I bring about 6 each time I go on the ice) and this case holds almost all of them. The foam slots used to hold the rods in place works well to prevent them from sliding around and getting tangled during transport. I also hook my lures into the foam to prevent any tangling and that works out great.

Pros:
holds up to 4 rod and reel sets easily
has extra side slots for small storage (wax worms, small jig boxes...)
holds everything in place during transport

Cons:
A little bit long (could be 6 inches shorter and still fit all my equipment nicely, but take up less space)

This is a minor con, and I would recommend this case to anyone looking to store 3-4 rods in a case vs letting them roll around your bucket.

I'll give it 4 stars and definitely recommend. It served it's purpose by transporting my rods/reels via plane and throw in a sled out to the ice. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is due to capacity. I did have to unscrew my reel handle and tuck in to fit 4 poles comfortable. When on the ice I just took two poles so I didn't have to unscrew reel handle and just throw in and move. However, there are side slots which I could add my headlamp, pilers, the lures I used most common, multi purpose tool.

Very well made. Can fit at least 6 combos(strait-line or spinning) with slight modification. I drilled a few small holes and added some mini bungees to hold everything in place. With this setup I actually have 6 ice rod combos inside and well organized along with some jig boxes and extra spools of line. Well worth the money and better features than the Frabil for sure.

This may be meant for ice fishing, but it works just fine for regular fishing poles. Our arrived very quickly. It is very sturdy but lightweight. Being able to move the foam blocks around has been helpful. The textured surface on the outside seems to resist scratches so far. A nice find.
