5.0 out of 5 stars Patience young jedi
This game requires a little patience with the control scheme especially for those of us who have spent weeks of our lives playing that other skating game with that one guy named after a bird. Anyway Andy Mac shows his stuff in this game and while it owes a tip of the hat to aformentioned game it has its own set of strengths. Once you get used to the control scheme you...

This game requires a little patience with the control scheme especially for those of us who have spent weeks of our lives playing that other skating game with that one guy named after a bird. Anyway Andy Mac shows his stuff in this game and while it owes a tip of the hat to aformentioned game it has its own set of strengths. Once you get used to the control scheme you will begin to appreciate this game you can execute all sorts of tricks while just skating on the ground handstands, nosewheelies, manuals etc...The trick controls just take some getting used to once you get a feel for them your opinion of this title will probably change drastically. There are forty levels and boards to unlock and there are also 10 different game modes to play in lifestyle being the most satisfying. The soundtrack sounds good but after it has played over a few times you will probably turn it off. I like Andy Mac and I like this title it is very solid and entertaining, and it begs the question can we have too many skateboarding games? Answer: I think not

this game is ok. Its got a good soundtrack but very difficuly controls if you area a tony hawk fan like i am. The graphics are pretty outdated but it doesnt look bad, the camera angles are really good and well the gameplay is ok. All in all this game is a good cheap game. For how much i payed for it i am satisfied.

5.0 out of 5 stars HARD AT FIRST BUT STICK WIT IT, November 19, 2001
A Kid's Review

WHEN I GOT THIS GAME I THOUGHT IT WAS CRAP,BUT I STUCK WITH IT AND I NOW THINK ITS BETTER THAN TONY HAWKS.PEOPLE WHO SAY THIS GAME IS RUBBISH ONLY SAY THAT BECAUSE THEY ARE CRAP AT IT, (ITS NOT IMPOSSIBLE TO LAND TRICKS,IT JUST MEANS YOUR CRAP IF YOU CANT).IT DOES TAKE PRACTICE BUT WHEN YOU ARE GOOD THE GAME IS VERY REWARDING.WITH GREAT MUSIC,PHAT TRICKS AND MANY LEVELS THIS IS A GAME THAT BEATS THE PANTS OF TONY HAWKS.

1.0 out of 5 stars THIS GAME DESERVES ZERO STARS!!!!, March 2, 2004

Without a doubt, this has to be the worst skateboarding game ever. I'm ashamed to admit that I own the thing. The graphics, physics, controls, and overall gameplay are HORRIBLE.

Andy McDonald should have stuck with his skating partner and appeared in Tony Hawk instead. How embarrassing!

Run from it! Run!

4.0 out of 5 stars A bit underrated...., May 2, 2003
This review is from: MTV Sports: Skateboarding (Video Game)
If other skateboarding games weren't around, everyone may be liking this game more. THPS set the bar pretty high though, and most gamers seem immediately compelled to draw comparisons (myself included). I think it is best to look at this game on its own for what it's worth. It has some good points, and some nice tricks. I have also gotten some huge air.
Games like this one are pretty cheap these days so you could probably pick it up if you are a skateboarding fan. So why limit yourself to one franchise? Variety is good!

2.0 out of 5 stars Lameboarding, April 23, 2002
This review is from: MTV Sports: Skateboarding (Video Game)
this game [stinks]. I love skateboarding games too, but this one [stinks]. Configuration of the controls is almost impossible. The graphics aren't that good either. If you want a good skateboarding game, go with Tony Hawk 1, 2, 2x, or 3. Those are much better and more challenging. .... the 2 stars i gave it are for the soundtrack only.

This game is a great skateboarding game, better than Tony Hawk. There are many more levels and more options than Tony Hawk and it also has hidden charaters and you can change what you want to skate such as: Stunt, Lifestyle, MTV Hunt, and many more. Not only does this game beat out the original Tony Hawk by a land slide, but it comes with one of the best videogame soundtrack i have seen.
