This review is from: MTV's the Real World : Hawaii True Confessions (Paperback)
This book is very entertaining and fun and you will not be able to put it down! Find out what cast members said about each other after they moved out of the house! Also, read the roomies' applications! Find out the truth behind Colin and Amaya's romance and also find out what happened when Kaia visited Matt! There is so much interesting stuff in this book. There are a lot of pictures and it even find out what the cast of the Seattle season is up to these days. If you enjoyed this season, you'll enjoy the book. There will be no regrets!

A Closer Look at The Real Worlders,
By A Customer
This review is from: MTV's the Real World : Hawaii True Confessions (Paperback)
This book has to be the opposite of the movie Real World You Never Saw: Hawaii. Yeah, there are some things in it, that make you go hmm...but nothing like the movie. In the book, you get a closer look at Colin and Amaya's relationship, Ruthie's leaving, Justin's early departure, the love triangle between Teck, Ruthie and Malo, and last but not least Matt and Kaia's "romantic" relationship towards the end of the show. This book also gives you the chance to take a look at each Real Worlders casting application and the process of why they were picked for the show. There are some really good pictures in the book as well. Each cast member has a section of the book that counts as I guess a reflection of their experience on the show. How they felt, who they got along with the best, who they feel the most connected to, etc... This book is a definite if you always wondered what the heck they were talking about if you didn't understand some of the stories where they alluded to something that had happened in the past. It fills you in on a lot of those.

The Real World: Hawaii True Confessions gives you an in depth look at what really happened and if you were a fan of this particular cast or the show in general, the book is definitely worth a look. It gives you the favorites of the cast members, goes into a list of who they will stay in contact with (Kaia hates Justin by the end; in fact most of them do), and shows the applications which they submitted to Bunim-Murray. My favorites from the book -Teck's favorite actress is Amaya -Colin doesn't know the meaning of "sexual orientation" -In the "Loves" section after pairing up Colin & Amaya, and Matt and Kaia, they put together Ruthie with Alcohol. Wheee. If you are a fan of the show, order the book. There's not much more to say!

My Thoughts,
This review is from: MTV's the Real World : Hawaii True Confessions (Paperback)
The book gives a relly good insight on the Hawaii cast! It has sections written by each cast member (including Justin) about the experience of the show. Then, all the other cast members share their thoughts on each other! Colin comes with some really good info! There is a section that tells about the house they lived in, w/ an intersesting article about a theif who broke into the house. There are sections written by Becky (N.Y), Jason (Boston), and Neil (London). There is another section that tells the favorite hang-outs of the cast. There are parts that talk about major events that happened. It is cool, because each cast member narrats the section. There is an update on the Seattle cast to! The Seattle cast (Irene isn't in it) narrates their section, and they tell about their embarassing moments, fashion flops, who the stayed in touch w/, and etc. There is an application for the show to! There are tons of nice pictures!

Portrait of Egocentricity,
By Lois Calzone (Hunt Valley, Maryland USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: MTV's the Real World : Hawaii True Confessions (Paperback)
I enjoyed the book. It was interesting to read how each of them saw themselves before, during and after taping. I also liked that the publisher used regular type instead of the handwritten diary style that they had done once before. (It was heard to read!) I must admit though, that I felt embarrassment for each of the castmates more often than I cared to. A follow-up book in (25) years would be a trip! I hope I'm around to read it. P.S. I LOVE ROAD RULES and REAL WORLD. But I'm not a kid. I'm 57, female. Worlds oldest fan! LOL

Granted, I'm a little obsessed with the show, but this book is the bomb! There's lots of cool insider gossip stuff and awesome behind-the-scenes photos. Not to mention the diary entries, which are the best, especially if you've got a huge crush on one of the Realworlders, like me. Feed your obsession.
