Amazon Verified Purchase
The knife arrived yesterday. I open box and was greeted with a Bud K catalog and card. I guess company I ordered from is related to Bud K . If I had known that I would have never ordered.
This will make a good wall hanger but that's about it. First It looks like the movie knife. Except in none of the movies, from Alamo back to Allen Lad . Did the knife have a brass blade catcher or a big silver common screw in butt of stock. I removed and found this to be a rat tail tang . Not a real full tang. This shows me, I would never trust this knife for hard for use. It does make easy to disassemble knife. Blade about as sharp as a butter knife . I don't buy wall hangers I carry and use all my knives in one way or another
Sorry I have many Bowie type knifes and have wanted this knife for my collection since I was a 10 years old in early 1950's and first saw it. I will keep but never trust to use. It is stricty a wall hanger. Which is a shame as it fits a custom sheath I had made for my Laredo very nicely

This is an excellent knife. It is very similar to the one in the Movie "The Iron Mistress" which is the one I was seeking.

The Bowie arrived on time and in excellent condition except for a loose screw. Not a problem that a small screwdriver and some Locktite didn't solve. This Bowie is a faithful reproduction of the movie version and is probably about as close to Jim's own knife as one is likely to get with the vagaries of history and fancy. I like it.
