Product Description

The #1 marble shooter game, now for Kindle Fire!

Answer the call of the goddess, Isis, in this addictive marble-shooter game. Chains of colored spheres are working their way through ancient Egypt, and it’s up to you to stop them before they reach the pyramids. Wielding your mystical winged-shooter, you must fire colored orbs into the chain to make matches of three or more, and eliminate the spheres from the chain. Clear out the entire chain, and you’ll work your way up to the next level.

Customize your shooter to play LUXOR just how you like it with two different types of aim assist and three control system choices to mix-and-match. Face off with the approaching spheres in four different game modes: Practice, Adventure, Survival, and Challenge of Horus.

To help you in your quest, power-ups like Fireballs, Lightning Bolts and Multi-Colored Spheres will fall from the sky—use them to create thrilling special effects as they aid you along your journey!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Rendition of a Venerable Desktop Favourite August 3, 2014
Verified Purchase
The Luxor series, as well as the slightly earlier Zuma series, were what brought such slithering-marbles shooter games into the mainstream on desktop computers a decade ago. Having taken a look at this game, I would say Mumbo Jumbo has done a good job porting it to the Android platform:

- The controls are customizable (as they should be), and I found 'Fire on Release' coupled with 'Swap Marbles w/ 2nd Finger Tap' worked best for me. The "Aim Assist" is also definitely a plus for small screens.
- In-game volume control
- Three different Play Modes (Adventure, Survival, Practice) & different difficulty settings (for Adventure only?)
- When there are no marbles of matching colour still to eliminate, the game is smart enough to exchange the one in the shooter for a more relevant colour.
- No active malware (AdColony, SessionM, etc.)
- Network access is requested, which I presume is for Amazon GameCircle & Insights, but the game runs fine offline.

I was surprised to see an average 2.5 rating for this game when I downloaded it, and I could only assume its previous versions did not work, or did not work well, on the Kindle. I would think that has been solved now judging from more recent reviews, but you really have to try & determine that for yourself...

This Game works with Game Controllers and Fire TV Remote

Heh, LUXOR was my mother's number one most favorite played game on her laptop, and I already know it will end up on her Kindle Fire when I tell her later on that it's available for Android. However, it seems pretty clear from other users running the most recent KitKat (4.4.4) / ART. It seems to work fine according to Samsung Tab 4 users with KitKat (4.4.2) and also fine with Jellybean (4.2) and earlier, which includes Kindle Fire HDs and other models. I expect a lot of developers are going to get caught short with this latest Android OS release. :P

**I just got back from my mother's place. I loaded it up on her Kindle Fire 7" screen, and it looked/played great! I also put it on her Samsung Note 2, and with her little light pen, she can play it on it as well... although it is rather small play field. She will mostly likely just stick with the Kindle Fire.**

No Permissions/Concerns. Does contain Amazon IAP code, but there is NO IAP present, indeed being the FULL content. Games plays OFFLINE, saves upon play exiting, and the back-key does exit cleanly from the main menu.

Separate volume controls for Music (which is good as I quickly am becoming quite tired of the very repetitive music), SFX and over all mute, along with Aim Assist, Movement, Sphere Firing, and Swapping Ball Colors. Four Play Modes (of which three are immediately available: Adventure, Survival, Practice), separate profiles, achievements, personal leaderboard, it's all here! Getting used to the touch screen control may take a little experimentation under the Controls sub-menu (I prefer the Beam targeting assist with the Release to Fire setup). All in all, old timers from the PC version will rejoice, and newer players will now get to play a classic on Android devices.

This is a very fast, fun and challenging marble shooter game set in ancient Egypt...It's so fast I'm still in Practice mode where my husband who is a big gamer and had Luxor on his PC is levels beyond already...

Comes with a very good tutorial....As the spheres or marbles start coming down the lines use your Scarab shooter to eliminate matches of 3 or 4 more spheres in a row quickly before they reach the Pyramiads..Use your finger to move controller from left to right...Swipe downward to swap out different colors and just tap to launch...You have 4 modes to play in, Practice, Survival, Adventure and Challenge of Horus....Several different power-ups like Stop, Slow, Reverse and Wild help you along the way....

You have an options button to mute music and sound effects...3 modes in how you want to use your controls according to what skill level you are at..Aim Assist, none, reticle or beam..
The graphics are done nicely and you have adventure music which is enjoyable...

This game downloaded very quickly and what ever the "bugs" or "glitches" were in the past have been fixed..The game exits cleanly...
I have it on Samsung S4, Note II and Kindle HDX 7".......No problems at all with this game and runs fine offline..

No malware, adware, intrusive permissions, code for IAP but it's inactive.....

5.0 out of 5 stars Update works! February 18, 2014
When this was first released, just like many others, it didn't work on my Kindle. But with this new update, everything works flawlessly and it's just as fun, if not more so than I remember!\If you had this before and it didn't work for you, check it out again.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good marble game similar to Zuma! August 3, 2014
Verified Purchase
This game is very much similar to a game I played on my Apple tablet called Zuma. You shoot marbles at a string of marbles being pushed by a bug and when you hit a set of 2 or more and add the exact color to create a string of 3 or more that section you added to blows up. At the end of the game you can catch Ankh coins for an extra life or falling treasure for bonus points.

This is a fun game and a good FAOTD. I played the app on an eight inch tablet and on a 5 inch Android phone and in both cases it was easy and fun to play. there are some powerups and they are explained under the how to play section under the More button. I rate the app at 5 stars.

This game is available also on Google Play but it costs $2.99 on Google and it is less expensive on Amazon. The app does contain Amazon Insights Analytics which monitors the software and it can monitor your behavioral data and game play. The permissions are very limited and as it is delivered now it is not colleting any personal data. It is mentioned by some reviewers that this app contains Amazon IAP code but on my download there is no IAP code in the app's software. It does use Amazon GameCircle. There is also a More games button so make sure that your children are not purchasing games that you do not want. The app played perfectly with the WIFI turned off so that is an option to stop purchases.

* full network access
* view network connections

3.0 out of 5 stars Very good... until Lollipop
Great game, fun way to pass some time. However it crashes immediately since my Nexus 10 received the Lollipop upgrade. Once that's fixed, it'll be back to being fun!

Two stars because when it's working it can be fun and challenging. However, intermittently crashes and resets my high score and that is pretty dang frustrating.

daily deal? not working
Yes. I tried a chat with an Amazon rep and was told that the app is not free. When I provided the URL of the Amazon page saying it is the free app of the day he then said that it is being looked into and he will get back with me.
