Very Creative, September 23, 2008
This review is from: MVP (Murder Vengeance Power) (Paperback)
Jonathon Parker and Albert Coltrane Jones are from two different worlds. Jonathan grew up in money passed along by his grandfather. Coltrane on the other hand has been on his street hustle since he was a youngster, until he catches a case at the tender age of twenty-one. With the help of Jonathon as his attorney he beats the case and they become the best of friends, but everything is not always what it seems.
Both Jonathon and Coltrane are hungry to make that almighty dollar. They eventually become business partners making more scratch than they know what to do with. Now they are flying high, both are ready to get out of the game for different reasons. Coltrane is tired of the fast life and wants to settle down. Jonathon has his eyes on the political arena and is determined to get the position by any means necessary. Even if it means backstabbing Coltrane and bringing down his empire.
As two friends go toe to toe, there is no holds bar as family secrets are revealed, murders are committed. And a ending that you wouldn't believe. As the puzzle unfolds who will be the captain savior in the end.
MVP (Murder Vengeance Power) is very different from the norm. You really have to pay attention to detail in the beginning because it will make you really think when its all said and done towards the end. There were many characters that played a key part in the storyline. Jihad has a very creative and vivid imagination.

Don't hate the player, February 3, 2008
This review is from: MVP (Murder Vengeance Power) (Paperback)
The two main characters in MURDER, VENGEANCE, POWER by JIHAD are as different as night and day. Jonathon Parker, a white attorney, was an introverted, troubled youth. Coltrane Jones, a Black hustler, did not even finish high-school, his education was in drug trafficking. But as much as they are different, they are the same; both want to reach that pinnacle. Jonathan wants to eclipse his father's career and finances, one good criminal case is all he needs. Coltrane wants to be the man, he is an up and coming player, and is positioning himself to assume the reins.
Coltrane is arrested for possession, a charge that should land him in prison for several years; he needs an aggressive, greedy lawyer; he meets Jonathan. Coltrane has the paper, and Jonathan has his case. After numerous underhanded deals and many forceful coercions, Coltrane is released. The results produce a bizarre friendship and a very lucrative business liaison.
The business partners continue their reign as major players, involved in everything from drugs to murder to blackmail; whatever it takes to get to the top. But, once they reach their pinnacles, both of them want out. Coltrane is tired of the business and wants to settle down with the new woman in his life. Jonathan, now a top criminal attorney, has his eyes on the Governor's Mansion. Jonathan has the political backing to get there, but there is a catch. He has to bring down his best friend, the notorious MVP, Coltrane Jones.
MURDER, VENGEANCE, POWER takes the underside of law and the topside of the underworld and produces a connection that is fierce, intense and foreboding. The men give a different twist to illegal action and carnal entertainment. The beginning of the story was saturated with too many sidebars and for a minute it slowed the pace. But the vivid storyline and the depth of the characters were the positives that made this a good read. This is my second read by JIHAD, and my initial feelings are still firm, his writing is refreshing, the action is fast and the ending was not predictable; it makes readers take a look at the bond surrounding friendship. MVP is definitely not sealed with a kiss.

"Spiderman has once again woven a fantabolous tale....", September 9, 2007
This review is from: MVP (Murder Vengeance Power) (Paperback)
I deem Jihad the title of 'Spiderman' because only one such as he could weave such an intense, intricate tale. He introduces numerous characters with various settings, spins a web that all meet up centercourt and the links are just mind boggling. Amazing!!!
Jihad has struck once again!!! He begins his web with the arrival of Albert Coltrane Jones, a precocious lil boy that is sent to stay with his father, who taught him many lessons in a short time. His main teaching was to decipher how to play people like puppets and for him to always be the master puppeteer. Then there's Jonathan Parker, a troubled child, that always sought approval from him philandering father.
These two characters live two very different lives, but they meet at a crossroad and despite Coltrane's father's warning to never trust a white man, Coltrane believes that he and Jonathan are partners in a plan to become millionaires. Coltrane can't seem to discern the evil that Jonathan feeds on within. The master plan goes without any glitches and matter of fact it blossoms into a masterful dynasty.
That is until the evil within makes it's very presence known and Coltrane has to bear the brunt of the lesson with the reminder of having forgotten what his father always told him. Jihad has produced a wonderfully, almost poetic tale in which the conclusion simply blind-sides you as he unfolds all the pieces of the puzzle to reveal another masterpiece that only Jihad could commandeer!!!
Jihad is mos def a unique and exquisite story-teller and one that will remain in a class of his own. His work can NOT be categorized because it can't be contained!! Kudo's to you and continue to take your readers to the next level as only you can do!!! Major props brotha!!!!
