3.0 out of 5 stars Impressed, but..., November 27, 2008
This review is from: MWg Zinc II (English, QWERTY, GPS) (Electronics)
This phone has a sleek design and appearance. The price I bought it was really worth it. The packaging is what really got to me. When you open the mwg carton which it came with, your first reaction will be that some designer perfumes have been shipped to you in error! Thats the idea...
It was so well packaged that you would prefer leaving it in the packaging!!!

PROS:
Talking about the phone,
-it's a 3G phone.
-It came with the Windows mobile 6.1
-and carries a samsung 500mhz processor, making it real fast.
The wlan b/g works with a click.
-The touch screen is also pretty responsive.
-The transcriber was not bad at all...compared to other touch screen phones I have used.
-It's quadband as advertised, has GPS, bluetooth, powerful speakers, and can be used in most parts of the world. The phone is really fantastic, it actually looks more beautiful than advertised.

CONS:
The few flaws I noticed were that:
-the 2mp camera was not impressive compared to some phones with 2mp camera i have used like nokia and samsung.

-Again, the Qwerty keypad is as flat as ever. This is good, but you have to be careful how you type, bcos you could be touching other buttons in error. This will happen so often no matter how much you try to adjust, and its killing me. I am the type that likes typing fast and most things I do is with the aid of the keyboard, so I find this a major setback. If you are in love with using the keyboard, please be careful and make sure you considered this fact well before buying this phone.

-The configuration of the keypad was also somewhat different from the ones I have used before. Some first key functions were transfered to 2nd fn keys and moved elsewhere. The number(1,2,3,etc), 2nd fn positions, at the top line area in other conventional keyboards were also moved to the right. I think you should just get used to it anyway.

Infact, the major problem I have with this device is just the keyboard. I keep making mistakes and touching other buttons when i want to press another button, and it really slows me down. I suggest the bottons should be elevated a bit, like in other pda's.

Apart from the above observations, the phone is really a great companion. I have recommended a lot of my friends and brothers who love 3g phones and like keeping in touch with the slide out qwerty keyboad.
