Best MX Game Available,
By
This review is from: MX 2002 featuring Ricky Carmichael (Video Game)
I have played every MotoX game from Motocross Madness to Jeremy McGrath and this is by FAR the best of them out there. Let me first say that Jeremy McGrath is the worst, should have been a straight trip from the manufacturing line to the garbage can. That said, Ricky Carmichael is certainly the best. From clutch fanning to take the holeshot, to suspension compression for bigger jumps, to powersliding the perfect line through the turns, this game has it all. The computer puts up a great fight, sometimes even landing on you and running you over, so you know you're not going to beat this one and move on due to boredom. Wheelies, stoppies, Nac Nac's, Superman's, it's all here. Great graphics, great tracks and freestyle arenas, great bikes (KTM, Suzuki, Kawasaki etc..) fast gameplay, big hills, huge jumps, I can go on and on and on!!!!I have been burned one too many times by buying games before playing them or renting, well, I rented this game and it's a keeper!! It will be on my Christmas list for sure!

This game is the best game ever. What I really like about the game is that you can create your own player. You can't do that in MX Superfly. This game is great for doing wheelies. From the moment I had my hands on it,I could not stop playing it.I love the tricks in this game.I recommand this game to anybody that loves dirt biking.

Incredibly Fun Game,

I have wasted so many hours on this game! I've got 6 other XBOX games that haven't been played in 2 weeks, if that gives you any idea. The graphics are great (I've almost wet myself a couple of times...), gameplay is challenging. All in all an awesome game, but there is some questionable AI that goes on... 1. Count how many times other racers will come down on top of you and knock you off your bike upon landing a jump and you'll understand my frustration. 2. Don't spend too much time in the grassy areas or the game will penalize you and throw you off the bike.

most people doing a review from what i can tell havent even rode a dirtbike so they think this game is relistic well its not on this game there are no actual roots in turns the rythem section is the easiest and the preloading is bad but if you have only watched or never raced you would like this game (thanks to carmichael and stewart)

This game is awesome. The fun factor is up there with the best of them and it's not difficult to learn how to control the bike. My only complaint is that it is too short a game. Wish there were more levels of play (maybe more categories such as 125cc amateur, 125cc pro, 250cc amateur, etc). Hopefully they do a follow-up with more tracks and classes of bike. Buy it if you have the extra cash or better still pick it up secondhand.

I was really impressed with this game. After playing many other mx games in the past I was some what cautious of buying this one. I am glad I decided to. If you like mx in any way, you will love this game. The graphics are awsome in a way that only XBox can give! I am totally happy with this game and think that anyone would be!

Nothing revolutionary for an MX game,

MX 2002 is definitely a fun game, but it isn't a particuarly ground breaking title. The game centers around a career mode. You start at an Amateur in the 125cc class and work your way up to the 125cc Pros and then the 250cc Pros. Along the way you can take part in freestyle competitions and tutorials to hone your skills. The tracks are varied and can be quite long, which makes for fun racing. However, the game as a whole is quite short. I was able to complete the game within 3 days and it doesn't offer much in the way of replayability because there are so few team/bike choices. Also, features such as qualifying races (and last chance qualifiers) are completely absent. Overall I found Supercross 2000 for the N64 much more enjoyable. In particular it had running commentary during the races and multiple camera views. MX 2002 has neither of these. I recommend renting it for a couple days of entertainment. |
