I bought this as a gift for someone who has never used Android before so I decided to set it up before hand. The size is really small much smaller than I thought it was going to be especially the box it comes in. The red color looks more pink to me than anything, fyi.

PROS:
-Looks great on a 32" & 40" samsung 1080p led TV's
-Runs games great although haven't tried anything too graphically intensive
-Plays my 720p movies perfectly (avi, mkv, mp4)
-Great and fast for internet browsing (Chrome with windows desktop useragent)
-Very easy to root and install adaway, titanium backup, root explorer, etc
-Streamed movies from youtube, amazon prime instant video well using Dolphin browser in desktop mode with flash installed
-Wifi to my router netgear G router has stayed constant with no drops (will update when I set it up at the owners houses
-Great for document editing/viewing (Used Kingston Office/Adobe Reader)

CONS:
-Some lag if you try to do too much at once (This might be solved with Bob's custom rom on freaktab)
-After firmware update expect to wait 5+ minutes for it to boot (honestly thought I bricked it)

Overall this is a great android mini pc. Much better than a smart TV which usually ends up with outdated apps. The main purpose of this android mini pc was to watch movies which work flawlessly, play music while working out, and for web browsing which it does a great job and makes it so I do not need to leave my room and use a desktop pc.

P.S. the first thing you should do when buying one of these is install the latest firmware update from geekbuying.com's blog. The latest is currently 11/29 which adds a very useful power off feature and ability to hide the status bar.

Got my iMito for a Christmas gift. Messed around with it for a couple of hours today and I'm very pleased! Surfed, installed Apps, watched Videos & it worked flawlessly! Like anything else, read the "Users Manual" before trying to power this Baby with the "TV" USB port instead of using the supplied AC adapter like one "Einstein" did! This isn't going to match the performance of your Laptop or Home Computer, it wasn't made to. But as a small(USB Stick size), portable PC to add to any TV or Moniter with an HDMI slot it works great! Plays full HD Videos, Angry Birds & other games without a hitch so far. What else do you want for the price? Recommended!!!

I've taken the time to test most of these "Mini PCs" sold on the Amazon Market place and I can recommend this device as the one to go with. It came online flawlessly and accepted all configurations and customizations without a hitch. The only complaint I have as someone whom has taken the time to purchase and test more than 6 of these devices found online, I would ask if the manufactures would save the end user the hassle and release the device as "UNLOCKED!!"

Good idea, but the flash player is dysfunctional, it is available, you see it, but you can't use it to watch streamlined material.
It has poor WiFi signal reception. so if you are using it in a room 15 feet away from the router, it will be very weak.
The combination of the above 2 drawbacks makes it useless.

Rumors are Dell is going to "introduce" a stick computer. Why wait? I got this to toss in my travel kit as most hotels have HD TV's in the room and free wifi.

Loading the Netflix app is worth it by itself, web browsing and email is a plus. Most android apps work fine.

A wireless keyboard/trackpad like the Logitech K400 is a definite add on. Wired keyboard and mouse can be used for set up. A simple bluetooth mouse for basic app control is all that's needed for use as iMito has an onscreen keyboard just like most tablets/smartphones.

The manufacturer keep the version of Android current with relatively "easy" updaters.

While it took me a little while to learn all the quirks of the video players and network attached storage, I eventually found a combination that does exactly what I need. A portable media player that can attach to my NAS with PPTP VPN capabilities .

Works great after loading the amazon app store from the browser after going to amazon/app. The Play store that comes with it is crap, and does not offer Netflix, Hulu, Kinsington Office Suite, Anti-virus, Pandora, and all the free goodies, and tons of games. You also have to uncheck a couple things in settings like "Unknown App Sources" check to Allow, or amazon store will not load. You have to check the run "plug-ins" to view some online Flash Player movie sites. Youtube works great. My 3-year old broke mine soon as I got it all setup and was using it a couple days. I had a corded USB optical mouse plugged into it to use the onscreen keyboard, and he finally ran right through it, and it pulled the body from the 5V power socket, right off the PCB inside. I wound up opening it up to see if I could fix it being an old PCB designer. Teeny, tinny traces ripped from the board. Can't half see anymore and would need magnifier and super-fine tip soldering set to even attempt a brain surgery type repair. The board and the components are an amazing display of how small and miniaturized things have gotten since my old PCB designer intro-surface mount days, and through-hole days! The package is very solid and well made, except the two micro-usb sockets. They should improve the design of those. They are the weakest links, and are soldered to a couple small pads on only one side of the board, and they can be popped right off the board pretty easily, so be gentle with the two smaller USB ports! If anything breaks from cord pulling, it will be the power socket like on mine, and then the other one if used. P.S. the micro-SD slot works fine but you have to get the card pushed back past the metal housing with a small pointy tool. The HDMI plug is attached like a tank turret.Read more ›
