5.0 out of 5 stars Money well spent, December 4, 2007
I'm the kind of fellow that researches into the wee hours of the night before dropping my little earned pennies into anything, and this was no exception. The reviews on the net say mixed things. Some love it, some hate it stating that it folds at the worst times. Some people recommend buying a full sized Ti spork and just folding it (something I'm abject to, as any repeated stress on metal will induce failure, and if I'm paying for it, I want it to outlast me.

The one thing anyone buying this needs to know is how to PROPERLY use it. These sporks come with no instructions, and most of you won't need them. For those who said the thing sucks 'cause it folds need to read on. You see, the utensil has dent stops on the underside to hold the wire frame of the backside, but that's not all. If you observe, there is a cross member also attached. Once the spork is fully extended, you take and slide the cross member toward the front, and that effectively locks the back and front together. To fold, just reverse.

The thing truly is ingenious. I use it all the time. This WILL be the last utensil you buy, unless gadget lust strikes again. In two words... do it.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's a spork, March 23, 2011

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: MY-Ti Folding Spork by Brunton (Misc.)
This does exactly what it's supposed to do; nothing more, nothing less. I've only used it on one trip so far (3 days backpacking in Pine Mountain, GA). It's deceivingly light, but still feels sturdy and durable. Folds tiny, doesn't really take up any room in my kit. It's small and light enough to just leave in your pocket, if you like, so it's always handy. It's a little pricey---thus only 4 stars---but if it lasts me a few years (we'll see!), I'd say it's worth it.

4.0 out of 5 stars A nice Titanium Spork, February 25, 2010
This review is from: MY-Ti Folding Spork by Brunton (Misc.)
The Brunton My-Ti Titanium Folding Spork is one of those products that seems to work well for some and not others. After doing research you will come to the conclusion that you just have to try it out and see if it works for you. There tends to be a lot of varying opinions on this spork. Overall, I am happy with this titanium spork.

Following are my observations:

Pros:

- At 0.6 ounces it is extremely lightweight and is inconsequential as far as weight goes.

- I like that it folds very small and compact making it easy to store while taking up no room in your gear.
- The spoon has good depth so you will get a good portion of food.

- Titanium doesn't rust or melt and it will not leave a metallic taste in your mouth.

Cons:

- It can be difficult to lock the spork open even if you adjust the hinge.

- The spork is a little short when eating out of a 2 person freeze dried meal bag.

Overall, I like this spork and will continue to use as part of my gear. Yes it could be a little better but nothing that you couldn't overcome. Its lightweight and compact size are really good assets. I recommend that you give it a try and see if it works for you.
