Traditional and Modern well blent, September 20, 2003

In an attempt to help others determine whether they think they'd like the music on this album I would make the following comparisons:
It somewhat resembles Ferov Mustafov and Yuri Yunakov in that there is a very Balkans gypsy sound to it, as well as a jazzy sound.It's not quite as oriental sounding as Ibro Lolov, nor as rustic as Taraf de Haidouks. It's an excellent blend of modern and traditional Balkans. Much more Balkans sounding than Goran Bregovic!
I think anyone who likes any of the above, except for Bregovic, would like Jony Iliev.
