Product Description
GeneCorp
Adventure Just Got Cheesy!

You've been invited to a reception at the new facility of GeneCorp, ZLC (a Zero Liability Corporation). But when you get there, you find that the new facility looks more like a dungeon, and the reception doesn't seem very festive.

Cheese Crawl is a first-person adventure RPG in the style of a classic dungeon crawl...with a twist. Welcome to the world's first wine-and-cheese-themed dungeon crawl. Battle your way through six huge levels crawling with hostile genetically-enhanced dairy products. Gather useful and unique items, weapons, and armor. Find gold and other treasures. Trade equipment at the company vending machine. Solve challenges and puzzles to help you progress towards your one and only goal: getting out alive!

This is the perfect game if you enjoy solving puzzles and mazes, amassing treasure, leveling up your character with unusual equipment, combat with hors d'oeuvres, or simply defeating an evil corporation bent on cheese-related world domination.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cheesy June 27, 2012

This game is a first-person dungeon crawler with a cheese theme. Your enemies are genetically modified dairy products and accoutrements, such as cheese slices with fangs or evil crackers. You pick up various items as you explore the dungeon, like a cheese knife to use as a weapon, or a paper plate for a shield.

The game starts out with you wandering about a dungeon. Upon encountering an enemy, the game switches to combat mode. When an enemy is vulnerable, cross-hairs appear and you can swipe across them to attack. When it tries to attack you, you can defend by pressing the shield button or attempt to parry by swiping across the screen at the right moment. You can also distract an enemy by tossing a cracker at them. If the battle gets to be too much, you can tap the button at the center bottom of the screen to run away.

There are several mini-games you have to solve to proceed. So far, I've found a Memory-type game, a Tower of Hanoi puzzle, and a Simon-like game.

The graphics are somewhat old-school, but not bad. The dairy-based monsters are a bit amusing.

Unfortunately, the controls stink like three month old Limburger. You move about the dungeon by endlessly swiping up, left or right. Combat is particularly annoying because the defensive moves such as raising your shield are terribly slow, if they work at all. I've died 28 times so far; luckily, you get infinite lives on the Casual difficulty setting.

The game kind of grows on you, like mold on a wedge of Cheddar. Like every other dungeon crawler I've played, it's hard to quit, you want to explore just a bit further to see what you can find. Just a little more... just a little more... and then you realize you've been playing for over an hour.

5 stars for the app, minus 1 for the slow combat controls.

Good tunnel graphics and the controls to move through the tunnels are OK. You find gold, weapons, shields and crackers to distract the cheese. You move through the maze to open doors to look inside rooms or to find new tunnels. You can find the tools you need or just as likely find fighting mutant cheese with an attitude. There are different types of cheese like Swiss, round, square and the hated cheese sticks that fight in teams. Watch out for those lunchable small cheeses too, they are mean! The cheeses will charge you and bite you and they can kill you. You will see your own blood when you are injured. If the cheeses have a target reticule on them and you happen to touch or swipe them at that time you can kill them.

The maze is quite elaborate and nicely done. As you move through it you will find mini games like a match the pieces puzzle to unlock a door instead of using a key. The graphics are not bad but the cheese monsters are just, cheesy. They are not much to look at and the detail of the graphics on them is old fashion and simple.

The game is easy to play and I found it easy (but repetitive) to move through the maze using the finger controls. Overall the game is ok to play and solving the maze is detailed and interesting. I felt that the fighting was more difficult as the controls just seem slow and using the shield or weapons is aggravating when trying to fight multiple enemies at the same time.

I don't usually enjoy maze games like this but I found myself playing for almost an hour before I realized it. I was surprised and for that I give it 4 stars. (It really is about a 3 1/2) I thought the fighting was the worst part of the game because the controls need work and it just wasn't that much fun. I have more fun trying to work my way through the maze. I left the game one time after making considerable progress but for whatever reason I was unable to return to that same game and I had to start over. That was aggravating as I had gone quite a way through the maze. I don't know what I did wrong but replaying the same levels was frustrating

Doesnt seem too bad. I played for a few minutes before I became annoyed by constant flicking. I may try it again later I did have fun cutting the cheese sticks although I wouldve preferred marinara sauce to crackers. I might leave it another day on my kindle fire hopefully with energy I will be less annoyed by the controls
