You have to get this CD - It is w-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l!, July 30, 2008

I have Freshlyground's 2nd album: Nomvula & absolutely l-o-v-e it!! I listen to it every night outside to unwind after a long day (between raising a family & caring for a loved one with Cancer - I look forward to something that is relaxing & still uplifting).
I was so excited about their new release Ma'cheri but wondered, "Will it be as good"?? The answer ... Y-E-S, it just as good and even better! The songs have a happy up beat sound that is still warm & flavorful. I am truly happy that I got this CD. Although there isn't any sound clips on Amazon, please go to:
http://www.freshlyground.com
and click on Discography - select, listen to ... you'll have the option to listen to sound clips of all songs from their 3 albums.
I really don't see how anyone could go wrong buying this CD ... it is WONDERFUL!! Every song will have you singing along ... my personal favorite is "Pot belly" I think it should be every woman's anthem (lol).
Anyways, go check out the song clips, buy the CD & enjoy!

EXCELLENT!!!!!, February 15, 2010
This review is from: Ma'Cheri (Audio CD)
Good Times!!! There is no song here that disappoints. I bought this because I had seen the Potbelly video on youtube and fell immediately in love. I thought that Potbelly would be my favorite song, and so, of course I made the mistake of listening to only Potbelly for the longest time. Today I decided to listen to the entire album and was blown completely away. I repeat, there is no song here that disappoints. This is an A+ complilation. It makes me simultaneously very happy and very, very homesick. And for those of you who understand Zulu, you will LOL when you listen to Manikiniki... Show yourself some love and buy this CD.

LOVE IT AGAIN AND AGAIN, December 28, 2009
This review is from: Ma'Cheri (Audio CD)
Caught this group live at Celebrate Brooklyn / summer09 and fell in love. Zolani is one little powerhouse of a singer. The overall sound is very modern, light and spacious. The vocals are gorgeous and airy. Not a lot in common with some favorite, traditional Afropop groups like King Sunny Ade, Baaba, Salif. But like their name says, its "Freshly Ground". I am buying this again because I scratched my first copy! nuff said ;}
