The most balanced of major Hebrew newspapers,

This review is from: Maariv (Magazine)
The best that can be said for 'Maariv' is that it is perhaps less crusadingly left- wing than 'Haaretz' and 'Yediot'. In other words there is a slightly more balanced view of the Israeli political reality.
Amnon Dankner is a forceful , opinionated but knowledgeable and skilled editor. Once it had truly outstanding writers like Moshe Zak and Shmuel Schnitzer in the years I read it faithfully every week. Once too like all the newspapers it was a bit more respectable and gave less to the glossy, glitzy, glamor trivia world. Israel deserves a better Hebrew language newspaper than it now has.
