5.0 out of 5 stars A lot of bang for the buck - tons of features, great display

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a reliable product
I would not recommend this product at all. We received it last month, and it has not been accurate. The readings fluctuate even if it is within 5 minutes. We wrote to the company and they did make suggestions for us to try, such as sitting still while taking your blood pressure. My husband tried everything, still not accurate. He went to the doctors finally and had his...

5.0 out of 5 stars A lot of bang for the buck - tons of features, great display, February 3, 2004

I just bought this after being worried that my resting heartrate was too fast. Turns out I am doing just fine. But with this unit I will take my blood pressure everyday and then look at my on screen graph after up to 30 days and see how it looks over time.

I was happily suprised at the quality of the unit. 4 simple buttons (any one of which will activate the appropriate feature from the off condition) make it easy to operate and figure out. It comes with batteries - a nice touch - and a study case with a clear cover. Here are three levels of help in the included documentation. A Get Started sheet, a FAQ fold out, and a thorough booklet (in 4 languages) with the important details.

On screen instructions help you through the process of actually getting your BP. You get systolic and diatolic (most only give you the former) as well as pulse readings. The on screen graph is unique to this unit and especially in this price range.

...

Bottom line: I am very happy with the purchase. The only other one I would purchase is the one at Wal-Mart that comes with a printer to give you a hard copy graph of your readings over time. But it costs $89.99 and gives you more components to worry about.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best one I have purchased, April 11, 2010

This review is from: Mabis 04-255-001 Dot Matrix Digital Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor (Health and Beauty)
I have purchased several instruments of this type and this is by far the most accurate, the easiest to read and is very comfortable.

I have compared the results with the standard arm cuff monitor and this one produces identical results.

It is easy to set up and very easy to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars B/P Cuff, January 28, 2007
This review is from: Mabis 04-255-001 Dot Matrix Digital Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor (Health and Beauty)
Easy to use and as accurate as an 'old fashioned' cuff. This was a reorder for me, my 1st one checked my client B/P's (about 25/day) for over a year. The only reason I had to purchase another was because the door that holds in the batteries fell off and got steped on. Doesn't look so professional with scotch tape, but still worked as well!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars good deal, November 27, 2010

This product is fast and simple to use. The price was outstanding for what your getting. Most monitors are in the 70 dollars and up price range, so I was pleased with my purchase. It's nice it has two different modes, 30 readings for each mode, so two people can keep track of their readings, or you can use it twice a day to really monitor your bp. It also comes with batteries, so your ready to use it soon as it arrives. A great product, in my opinion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blood Pressure Review, September 23, 2008
I am very pleased with my purchase of the Dot Matrix Wrist Blood Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor. Delivery was very prompt. The only concern that I have is that I did not receive a receipt or any paper work (from the company) with the product that I could use to prove when I purchased the product.

I use this once every few weeks because of my hypertension. Works great every time and is fairly close to the readings taken by my doctor when I have checkups. Seems close enough for my use, and is very easy to use.

4.0 out of 5 stars Digital Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor, June 12, 2011

Pros: Relatively easy to use, very easy to read and has two memory functions so you can store readings (for example: a morning reading and an evening reading). Also comes with a storage case which is a nice plus.

Cons: As other reviewers have stated, placement on your wrist and how your wrist is elevated makes a HUGE difference in readings. Even though I carefully read the instructions and felt my placement was precise, a few degrees of your wrist being up or down changes your blood pressure readings dramatically. With repetitive use, you will become more comfortable and get more accurate readings.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a reliable product, January 25, 2011

I would not recommend this product at all. We received it last month, and it has not been accurate. The readings fluctuate even if it is within 5 minutes. We wrote to the company and they did make suggestions for us to try, such as sitting still while taking your blood pressure. My husband tried everything, still not accurate. He went to the doctors finally and had his actual blood pressure taken, and told the doctor about this particular model. The doctor said that this product was not a reliable one, and for the main reason that to get a proper reading, you should get a monitor that does not strap onto the wrist, but on the upper arm, as original blood pressure monitors are. I believe that this company does sell other blood pressure monitors, I would suggest purchasing another type from this company as they seem to be fair and willing to help.

1.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use but wildly inaccurate, December 22, 2010
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Mabis 04-255-001 Dot Matrix Digital Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor (Health and Beauty)
This device was inaccurate to the point of being dangerous. MY BP is 115-120/70-75 all of the time. I tried this unit and got that reading some of the time but also got readings like 225/115, followed by 110/70, followed by 145/105, etc. All within 5 minutes of each other. I puchased an arm cuff unit and it works perfectly, 115/75 all of the time.

My doctor told me not to use the wrist units, they don't work for everyone.
