Works for my 90 year old father,

I bought this product for my ninety year old father. He was having difficulty with socks because of knee problems. It used to take fifteen minutes for him to put on his socks. He just called me the other day to rave about and thank me for the Deluxe Sock Aid. According to his review, the product works as advertised and has made dressing far less stressful.

Highly recommend this product,
This product has made my daily routine much easier. Putting on socks was a real chore and took me sometimes 5 minutes to do so. Now I can put them on in less than a minute. I'm glad I found this product.

sock aid,
By Frank (Vancouver WA) - See all my reviews I purchased this for my friend who had eye surgery and could not bend over. He said it has been the greatest help with putting on his socks. My brother has one also and says kudos!

For an average sized or smaller foot, this works very well. However, people with larger feet (length, width, or both) or swollen feet, such as myself, may have some trouble using the device. Also, the strap attachments can be flimsy. The device is a flexible piece of plastic sewn inside a cloth sleeve. One side of the sleeve, the foot side, is nylon, and it slides fairly easily along a clean, dry foot. The other side, the sock side, is terry cloth, so it "grips" the sock fabric and reduces slippage. The straps are stitched to the cloth sleeve, not attached with grommets to the plastic. The size of the aid is slightly smaller than most of the uncovered plastic aids I have used. I've owned two of these aids. The first one was excellent for getting my socks on, although I did have to use a good deal of strength to get past the heel. Unfortunately, approximately two weeks after it arrived, one of the straps broke off. The stitching gave way. I suppose I could have asked someone to sew it back on for me, but instead I ordered another aid. The second aid lasted much longer, but after about four months the terry cloth ripped along one side and the aid was useless after that. Note: my feet are size 16 and frequently swollen, so I'm an extreme case.) I think if the manufacturer attached the straps to the sleeve/plastic combination with grommets, the aid's durability would increase. As long as the straps are stitched to the cover, it's a gamble how long they will last. Nevertheless, if you are prepared to deal with that, this is a useful aid.

I really like the sock aid. It has made my life so much easier. Although I could put a sock on, because of a hip replacement, it was time consuming and frustrating. Now, I get the sock aid and within moments my sock is on.

This is with out a doubt the worst item I have ever purchased!! Cheaply made and designed. Once it's folded and the sock is placed over it. It's just about impossible to get your toe's/foot into the opening to pull the thing over your foot! I tried to do it a few time. I'm going in for hip replacement surgery and could not imagine using this piece of garbag after surgery when I can't use it now. What a waste of time. So mad, I just tossed it in the trash!! Looks like I will be going sockless until I can find an assit device that works.

This item helps my Mom put on her socks. It is a little cumbersome though. Perhaps there's a way to make it less so.
