So-so Product,
By Happy Customer "Nick" (Seattle) - See all my reviews Yes, it's quicker than the bad thermometer, BUT it takes more like 2 minutes to register, and the display is NOT "large and easy to read" by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, it's quite difficult to read without being tilted in the right light, and the display is the same size or smaller than most of the thermometers I've seen. I believe it IS reliable and accurate. Plus, it's only around $8 at my local Kmart (I was desperate to get one quickly). It recalls the last reading, and the beeping when it's done isn't annoying or loud enough to wake me up fully (a good thing, for me). Overall, I think this is a fair product in the lower BBT price range, but there are likely better thermometers out there if you're looking for speed and ease. I would keep this one if charting was a shorter term activity, but because I'm planning on doing it for years to come, I'll likely buy the BD Digital Basal Toni Weschler recommends (though it looks like Amazon doesn't currently carry it, unfortunately).

Precise!,
This review is from: Mabis Dmi Healthcare 15-639-000 Basal Display Digital Thermometer, White (Health and Beauty)
I love the fact that this little basal thermometer is to the 10th degree but wish that it had a back-light. It is hard in the mornings to see the display since you are to take your temperature as fast as you can and without much movement.
I like the memory feature but wish that was a second button on the unit. It displays TWO temperatures and I am not sure what the second temperature is all about. I am ASSUMING the first number with the "M" next to it is the memory recall of the last reading. The button is flat and I find myself fiddling with it to activate the thermometer. I like that you can get charts off the Mabis website...so that is a plus. Overall it is a good BASIC basal thermometer. I would spend extra money to purchase one with a light, if there is one like that available.
