About the Author

Laura Werlin is the James Beard Award–winning author of five books on cheese. Laura’s particular focus is American cheese, for which she has been a champion for more than a decade. Laura Werlin is a highly respected authority on cheese. Mac & Cheese Please! is book bursting with 50 comforting and fresh macaroni and cheese dishes.

This cookbook does a great job at introducing the novice cook to the basics of cooking pasta and cheese. It includes a run down of all the different kinds of pasta and cheese available and gives hints on the best ways to use each kind.

The book is clear and concise with well prepared directions. The pictures will have your mouth-watering for some cheesy goodness. It includes recipes that use both the oven or stove top methods.

These recipes are main meal fair. They include meat and veggies and are very original and inventive. Usually, my family only considers mac & cheese as being a side or more "picnic" food but this book proves mac & cheese can also be an upscale and gourmet worthy dish.

One caveat, for me, was that the recipes included ingredients that aren't easily found in a small town grocery store. I can't just pop over to the local grocery and get truffles or prosciutto. But, there were plenty of recipes that included ingredients I already had on hand.

This is a great cookbook if you really feel like mixing it up and want something totally out of the ordinary.

Love the book. It's traditional and gourmet. Finally a mac and cheese recipes I can have fun with. I'm Armenian and cheese is a big part of my culture. We eat cheese with fruit, bread before meal, during meal and after meal :)) So this book is so rich with cheesy goodness that it's hard not to find a recipe that you love!

I purchased cookbook for my daughter as a gift however I liked the recipes! Really thought about keeping the cookbook for myself! I do plan on purchasing a copy for myself! I read Mac Cheese, Please,</a> in exchange for review from Netgalley.com. The book was wrote by Laura Werlin.

The book discusses Super cheesy recipes. First, the book has bright, colorful, pictures of food. Made me super hungry. Next, the book provided facts about Mac and Cheese. The book also discussed different types of cheeses, pastas, making bread crumbs, in addition to tips on how to perfect macaroni and cheese.

I loved all the recipes, especially the gluten-free mac because my nephew has a gluten allergy. I also loved the mac and cheese squares, in addition to the mac and cheese with grilled cheese. Some recipes also have add-ins to make the pasta more spectacular. This is a great book to read and (to try out the recipes. )
