Even though this is marketed for the Mac Mini, it is the exact same footprint as the new Airport Extreme base station. I used this to extend the one USB port on the base station so I could put a printer and an external hard drive on the hub. Got this instead of the USB/Firewire hub that they also sell due to the large number of complaints about there not being enough power available for some devices (this one has a separate power cord). I would highly recommend this to anyone buying a Mini or an Airport Extreme base station.

The Mac mini is a great little computer but is limited to two USB ports. I realized this after consuming one for my keyboard and the other to connect a USB printer and having no place to plug in my iPod Shuffle. I then started surfing for a port expander and was about to order a standard 4 port expansion unit when I spotted this one which was made expressly for the Mac mini and sits directly under the computer itself. It features two ports on the back and two in the front which makes plugging in the iPod a breeze. Be aware that you do need an additional power plug for the unit unless you are using only low power USB devices. The unit was priced pretty closely to a standard 4 port expander and looks really good sitting under the Mac mini. In short, I like it a lot.

The commenter before me that gave this only 2 stars because the cord was too short needs to rethink his post. You can not give things a low star rating because you failed to read the description. Although this hub will technically work with other computers, it was SPECIFICALLY designed for the Mac Mini, to be stacked on top or bottom of it, which is why the cord is so short. Just because you want to use it with a computer for which it was not designed doesn't mean you can give it a bad review, as it does EXACTLY as stated in its described purpose when used with the computer listed in the very name of the product.

Love how this is so slim & designed to sit under the mac mini. Great space saver & very functional. Haven't encountered any issues thus far. Very happy with the product.

This hub is perfect for the mac mini. It looks great and it functions just as well. Very conveniently placed plug ins. Also a great value. Highly recomended.

It does exactly what it's supposed to do, my only complaint is the USB cord is so short (a few inches) that it can't sit cleanly on top of my Airport Extreme Base station. Still though, gets the job done for hooking up my printer and external hard drive to my network.

This is a must-have if you want to maintain the sleek apple look and you need extra usb ports. The only problem I have is that the LED is too bright. It easily overpowers the Mac Mini LED, and that takes away from the aesthetics.

Great product! Looks great, compact, powered, great for ipods.

I was psyched when I got this hub. I wanted to use it for the single USB port on my Time Capsule. This way I could hook up multiple printers and storage devices that would be viewable across the entire network. After I hooked up all the USB cables and power, I turned on my MacBook Pro and nothing showed up via the Time Capsule. I plugged in each device individually to the Time Capsule USB port and each one showed up individually but not through this hub. I was bummed!

I decided to do one test before returning the product. I bought a cheap 4 port powered USB hub and hooked everything else up just like before. This time, everything WORKED.

I'm kind of disappointed because I like Belkin products. Maybe I got the one Lemon of the bunch?? This one should probably be avoided anyway.

When I bought it I was uncertain as to whether this was powered or not. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this is a powered USB hub.

I hooked it up to my Airport Extreme and have connected a 3.5" 2TB drive to it as well as a Samsung printer to it. I am using this HDD as my Time Machine back up for 2 Mac's I have in the house.

I am happy to say that I am able to print, and access both the devices from all the machines in my house, and it plays nice with my Airport Extreme. Also, aesthetically, it is the exact footprint as the Time Machine...
